2010 Ford F-150. why does our truck start to run rough when turning a slow hard left from a stop?
Check the power steering fluid. If it is low or dirty, fix that first. Check for leaks, especially on the actuator cylinder seal(s).
If the fluid is good, you'll have to find out what else is causing the power steering system to drag on the engine. This could be a problem with the suspension that makes left turns hard (worst case is a part that goes out of alignment due to a rusted-out attachment point).
2000 Ford F-150 4x4 4.6 engine, automatic transmission. What are the symptoms for a vacuum leak intake manifold vacuum leak on it.
A vacuum leak in the intake manifold of a 2000 Ford F150 4x4 with a 4.6L engine and automatic transmission can cause a range of symptoms, including:
- Rough idle: A vacuum leak can cause the engine to run rough at idle, which may be especially noticeable when stopped at a red light or stop sign.
- Misfires: The engine may misfire or hesitate under load, such as when accelerating or climbing a hill.
- Poor fuel economy: A vacuum leak can cause the engine to run lean, which can result in decreased fuel economy.
- Check engine light: A vacuum leak can trigger a check engine light, which may indicate a code related to the engine's fuel system.
- Stalling: In some cases, a vacuum leak can cause the engine to stall or die, especially at idle or when coming to a stop.
- Hissing sound: A vacuum leak may cause a hissing sound to be audible from the engine compartment, especially if the leak is large or near the intake manifold.
If you suspect a vacuum leak, it's important to have it diagnosed and repaired as soon as possible, as it can cause damage to other engine components over time if left untreated. A mechanic can perform a smoke test or other diagnostic procedures to locate the source of the leak and repair it as needed.
My fog lights are not
I have a 2004 f150 xlt triton. I couldn't figure out the how to turn on the fog lamps and the manual was not helpful.Solution: turn the light switch all the way to the right and pull the switch (out) towards you. Push switch in and it turns off. The manual says to turn switch all the way to right but doesn't say to pull switch out.
1999 Ford F150 cranks & no start, theft code 16.
when an anti-theft module 16 is tripped and the vehicle won't start, the only way to fix it is to reset the system using factory software or a high-end scan tool. You may be able to find a mobile mechanic/locksmith with the software who can come to you, but most likely you will have to get the vehicle to your local dealer.
1998 Ford F150. windshield wipers,interior
check to see if you have corrosion in the fuse box or the GEM module, by removing the fuse box completely, disconnect the battery, take out the two screws and two 8mm bolts that hold the fuse box in, it will take some maneuvering to get it positioned right to disconnect the two wiring harnesses from the fuse box, they are bolted through the middle. Once removed, take the GEM module off the back of the fuse box and look for what would be something like the same corrosion you would see on your battery posts, usually one of these components is corroded and causing the problem, my buddy got a replacement fuse box for his from a wrecking yard for only 15 dollars, with all the fuses and relays. If you have this corrosion, then you probably have a windshield leak at the lower left hand corner of the windshield, it lets water drip onto the fuse box and GEM module. Hope this helps, let me know
