Krups EA8250 had a leak problem. I replaced the seals and now when making espresso shots, the volume of the shot is always half of what I select. When making regular coffee, the volume is correct.

The piston is no longer leaking and the machine appears to be working correctly with the exception of the expresso volume. I have already explained that the leak is fixed, the seals are not the problem. It is not a grind issue. Even without beans the machine only uses half the volume of water for an espresso. If i use beans, the amount is even less.

Make your espresso as normal with the exception that you keep holding down the button until it has dispensed what you want to be the correct quantity. Next espresso you make will then be the correct quantity.

SOURCE: Jura S9 Capresso Machine "Fill System" Message

I think you use too fine grist on the grinder, or the coffeebeans are really dark and moisty. Try to set the grinder to a coarser grist, for dark roasted coffee it`s not recomended to to use any finer than medium grist. However, the sieve in the brewing unit could be clogged, and you need to clean this out. Put a finger up in the brew unit just along the grounds blade, you will probably find a lot of old fine coffeeground up the. Clean it up as best as possible, and then try to make coffee with coarser grist. If this helps, it`s smart to run a cleaning program to be on the safe side.

If nothing of this helps, you don`t have a choice, you have to send it for service, then the brew unit has to be dissasembled and cleaned from the inside.

SOURCE: Leaks under pressure

Hi
Your brew head gasket is leaking and needs to be replaced. remove everything and turn the machine on its top. Look ate the brew head inside there is a black gasket and it should be clean and flat. If its cut or curled it needs to be replaced. Not cleaning the brew head will cause this gasket to be cut and after a while it will curl and not seal.

SOURCE: My Breville800ESXL makes steam but does not make espresso.

jejones is right. try a coarser grind. it still makes great espresso, especially if you really pack a lot of ground coffee into the filter basket. Just make sure it is a bit coarser than you would normally use for machines without the dual wall filter basket.

I own a Krups EA9000 bean to cup coffee machine, it has a water leak through different operations?

When you buy these machines, they don't tell you that they need dealer servicing every 6 to 12 months. You need a brew head service kit which involves replacing all the seals and O-rings. The heat and pressure makes the seals deteriorate and leak. Also, it is not using cleaning solution, you have pipe blockages. They are only about 1/8" internal diameter.

How to reset brew counter on Krups EA8250

I found this on the internet:

Try this, remove the tank, the drip tray, the bin on the side and the sliding thing above the bin. Hold down the on and steam buttons while plugging the machine into a live socket, it's either that or the same again but holding down the on button and the program button while plugging it in. You will get a screen that says something like " Remis a something vende" which is French for put it into sale state, you choose "Oui" for yes

Krups EA8250 Displaying "Filling of the machine necessary" with full water reserve and hopper.

I suggest that you use the commands to "close the machine" for transport and then re-start it as if it was new. I had to get rid of my EA8250 after only 2 years as mine stopping working as well. I tore it apart and saw a lot of wear for such as short time. My grinder also stopped. KRUPS says you cannot use Oily beans but only after you buy the machine.

Filling of machine required

Did this problem exist before your fix? Make sure the hoses are the correct way around on the flow meter and check the wires are plugged on correctly. It is possible to offset the plug on some models.
