I suggest that you use the commands to "close the machine" for transport and then re-start it as if it was new. I had to get rid of my EA8250 after only 2 years as mine stopping working as well. I tore it apart and saw a lot of wear for such as short time. My grinder also stopped. KRUPS says you cannot use Oily beans but only after you buy the machine.

I don't have a service manual so I can't say exactly what it means but I had the same error. I fixed it by clearing out the pressure chamber where the grounds are compressed and the hot water is run through. There was a blockage that made the displacement lever (the little arm that moves spent grounds to the trash container) stuck and not fully able to move out of the path of the plunger. To do this I recommend using a compressed air can and a long slender object (pipe cleaner is ideal) to scrape out residue in the chamber and around the moving parts.

All of these automated coffee machines need regular maintenance. When was it professionally services by the dealer? My 6 machines in an airport environment needed service every 4 months. At home, probably every 12 months. Seals need replacing and moving parts cleaned and lubricated. In my opinion these machines are totally unsuited for home use.
