The picture has developed a wavy appearance or what I will call a black diagonal apperance (the photo shown is a good example), when tv first turned on the lines are spaced close together, as set is letf on lines become wider. These lines move from side to side. See photo.

I have the same problem with these "interferance" lines. They have Nothing to do with anything else, but the tv itself. How I know this is I disconnected everything and turned on tv alone, and same thing happened. But when I watch In HD, picture is perfect, any ideas?

Alot of rear projection t.v.'s have a convergence option in the menu on the t.v. There you can set the try to set the colors back how their supposed to. Mine has a cross in the middle of the screen and you just have to try to get all 3 colors to line up. Unfortunately, the actual lens inside mine has to be aligned so it doesnt work. Just something to try though, hope it helps.

Wavy lines appear across the screen

Projection TV sets have two very common problems listed below.

Problem #1) Convergence

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer, Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.
You can get more information and a DIY convergenece repair kit with instructions from the link below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2 - Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture

Red?Green picture

You may have inadvertantly loosened a cable connection to the DMD or logic board... You might be able to shut it down, unplug the unit and remove the lamp.. With the lamp out take a good flashlight and shine it into the lamp housing area inside the Tv and see if you have any wire obstructions that you could have contacted with the edge of the housing as you were removing or inserting the lamp...

RCA F32450 32" TV wavy picture

Most RCA repairs on your chassis series require a new IHVT,
AKA flyback transformer . Inside an Integrated HVT are diodes
that can degrade and give the appearance of a bad cap....
Of course, you should check the electrolytics with an ESR
meter, just in case....
