Most probably bad DMD board. Samsung DLP's are known for this kind of problem. Expect to spend few hundred $, if out of warranty. Alternatively, you may contact consumer protection agency. But always send email to samsung about the problem.

You will actually get white and black dots , the black ones are tougher to see because of the color in the background , within 2 months youre picture will be fully covered with dots....I went through the Samsung website troubleshooting flow chart , and it led me to a bad Digital Micromiror Device , or DMD board . What is actually the problem is the DMV chip connected to this board . Inside this chip are 3 million tiny mirrors ,and when they physically get stuck , they either show black or white instead of a color . Samsung will not tell me the part number of the chip , they will only offer to send a service tech to my house .

Yes, It is problem with DMD module in light engine that will be replaced.

The main board is more than likely the cause of the trouble. Time for a new TV.

This could be something on the lens or mirrors. you can open one or both porthole covers on the left or right side of TV to determine if this is the cause. You can look at the mirrors & lens to determine if a bug or dust has gotten on either part. Then clean. HOWEVER, the most likely cause is the DLP chip. this causes white & or black dots.
