Mostly sure you spilled coffee or a liquid over the remote and it has a bad short inside!
Remove batteries, open the remote and clean it wit a piece of cotton and alcohol.
You can use an old toothbrush as well to help with cleaning just careful not to break any integrates. Choose my answer as Helpful if the provided solution works well!

Sounds like the shut off timer is set (or power cord loose). Heres the LG site that gives instructions on how to check settings: https://www.lg.com/ca_en/support/product-help/CT20098005-1412238468277-intermittent-power-or-powers-off-on

It could be one of two things. Bad main control board which is simple to repair, or burned out LEDs which are hard to find and can be expensive.
In situations like this you have to do a judgement call consider the age of the TV compared to the price of a new one. Good luck.

caps wont go bad in a 2 year old TV. You probably have a shorted LED in the backlight. I would start there.
