How to remove timing pulley bearings on 100-1598 enco mill

To remove the timing pulley bearings on a 100-1598 Enco mill, follow these general steps:
  1. Disconnect Power: Before working on the milling machine, ensure that it is powered off and disconnected from the power source. This is crucial for your safety.
  2. Remove the Timing Belt: Loosen the tension on the timing belt by adjusting or releasing the tensioning mechanism. This will relieve the tension on the pulley and allow for easier removal. Carefully slide the timing belt off the pulley.
  3. Remove the Pulley Retaining Nut: Using the appropriate tools (such as a wrench or socket), remove the retaining nut that secures the pulley onto the shaft. Turn the nut counterclockwise to loosen and remove it.
  4. Tap and Remove the Shaft: With the retaining nut removed, you can tap the shaft out from the opposite side of the pulley. Use a soft-faced hammer or a block of wood to gently tap the shaft, gradually moving it out of the pulley and bearing assembly. Be careful not to damage the shaft or the pulley.
  5. Remove the Bearings: Once the shaft is partially or fully removed from the pulley, you can access the bearings. Depending on the specific design of your Enco mill, the bearings may be press-fit or secured with set screws. If they are press-fit, you may need a bearing puller or a suitable tool to remove them. If they are secured with set screws, use an appropriate tool to loosen and remove the set screws before extracting the bearings.
  6. Install New Bearings (if necessary): If the bearings are damaged or worn, it is recommended to replace them with new ones. Ensure that you select the correct size and type of bearings for your specific mill model. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for proper installation of the new bearings.
It's important to note that specific procedures and techniques can vary depending on the exact design and construction of your Enco mill. Always refer to the mill's user manual or consult with a professional technician for model-specific instructions and safety guidelines. If you're unsure or uncomfortable performing these steps yourself, it's best to seek assistance from a qualified technician or machinist to avoid potential damage to the machine or injury.

I disassembled my t50 PBM stapler apart, too far,I need complete disassembly and reassembly inst. Most things can be found somewhere - but where?

Hello John. When it comes to finding specific disassembly and reassembly instructions for a T50 PBM stapler, it can be challenging to find a comprehensive guide. However, there are a few resources you can explore to help with the process: 1. Manufacturer's Website: Check the manufacturer's website for the T50 PBM stapler. They might have instruction manuals, guides, or videos available for download or viewing. Look for a support section or a customer service contact to inquire about the availability of detailed disassembly and reassembly instructions. 2. Online User Forums and Communities: Look for online forums or communities where fellow stapler enthusiasts or DIY enthusiasts discuss stapler repairs and modifications. Websites like Reddit, DIY forums, or specialized stapler forums might have helpful threads or users willing to share their knowledge and experiences with disassembling and reassembling the T50 PBM stapler. 3. YouTube Tutorials: Search for video tutorials on YouTube that demonstrate the disassembly and reassembly of the T50 PBM stapler. Visual instructions can be particularly helpful in guiding you through the process. Although finding a specific tutorial for your exact stapler model may be challenging, general tutorials for T50 or similar stapler models may still provide some insights. 4. Contact the Manufacturer: If you're unable to find specific instructions or resources, consider reaching out to the manufacturer directly. Contact their customer service or support department and inquire about disassembly and reassembly instructions for the T50 PBM stapler. They may be able to provide guidance or direct you to appropriate resources. Remember to exercise caution when disassembling and reassembling the stapler. Take pictures or make notes as you disassemble it to help with reassembly. Be mindful of small parts, springs, and their orientation. If you're uncertain about any step or encounter difficulties, it's best to seek professional assistance or consult a qualified repair technician to avoid any damage to the stapler.

Roofing Nailer driver won't return

I too have a Model RN175 Type 1 which will fire one fastener without retruing the driver. This Type 1 does not have the selectable trigger (that allows alternating between single shot and automatic firing). So the previously posted solution (selector mid-way between SS and AS) doesn't apply here. I did a rebuild of the body and replaced the trigger assembly. Still no joy.

I called Porter Cable customers service and technical engineering (888-848-5175 and they suggested check the following items:
1) free movement of the head valve piston and good condition of the spring and o-ring
2) the condition and position of the check seal. This is a rubber sleeve with a lip that must slide up onto the anodized cylinder and COVER THE HOLES. (It has to be installed AFTER the big white plastic cylinder spacer is installed.)
3) the exhaust port to make sure that there was not trash stuck up in there
4) correct air supply pressure
Turned out for me that it was item #2 that was my problem. The rubber sleeve was not stretched up onto the anodized cylinder. This was probably due to initially hitting something hard when nailiing (blew it out of position) then my reassembling it incorrectly.
Hope this helps!
Great nail gun, great company, great customer service!

Bought a used Clarke Du-8R sander. It came with different grits. We have tried the 40 and 80 grit. They all tear away a few seconds after making contact with the floor. Any ideas?
