SOURCE: DVD player cant read DVD media
.Vob files contain audio, video and subtitles all together. However, most MPEG-2-capable DVD players don't support subtitle tracks. I guess your DVD player is in the mentioned majority. That's why you can only play them in your computer drive.

WARRANTY
You have conflicting advice from others on the length of the warranty. 1 year is the most likely. Whichever it is, you should still be covered. However, there are a few things you should try before returning the device under warranty, because if you do and no fault is found, you risk incurring a Testing Charge.
CD / DVD WRITING
You don't say which Burning Software you use. Assuming your PC previously had no burning capability and that you're relatively new to burning, you may not be aware that the latest versions of popular burning applications like Nero have a Drop Down Menu at the top of the Welcome Dialog Box where you switch from CD to DVD or combination CD/DVD functionality. It may be that your software is set to DVD. If so, either set it to the 'CD/DVD' option or toggle between CD and DVD as required. Then re-test the device.
LENS CLEANING
As advised elsewhere, buy a Lens Cleaning Disc and run it, then re-test the device (although I suspect 6 months is too short a time for dust accumulation to be the source of the problem, unless the inside of the PC is very dusty, in which case, disconnect it from the power and carefully clean as much dust out as possible, before cleaning the lenses).
BIOS CORRUPTION
If the device still does not work, your BIOS may have been corrupted and is not recognizing the device properly. If you are familiar with the BIOS, then enter BIOS and reset it to Default Values. Reboot. Re-test the device.
If you're not familiar with the BIOS, then avoid it as resetting certain values could stop your PC from working. There is another, safer way of achieving a similar result.
If you have some hardware installation experience (I am assuming you installed the device yourself):
Shut your PC down.
Disconnect the PC's power cable.
Open the PC.
Taking care not disturb other internal connections, disconnect the device's SATA or IDE Data cable and its SATA or MOLEX Power cable.
Re-connect the PC's power cable.
Reboot the PC.
Once fully booted, shut the PC down again.
Disconnect the PC's power cable again.
Avoiding other internal connections, re-connect the device's Data and Power cables.
Close the PC.
Re-connect the PC's power cable.
Reboot.
Wait, carefully watching the bottom right hand corner of the desktop screen for the Device Recognition / Successful Installation / Device Ready for Use notifications.
Test the device again.
FIRMWARE UPDATE
If the device still does not work, it's firmware may be out of date. Go to the LG website.
Support > Downloads > Operating System > Device Type > Device Name (full model number) > Firmware Update > Download > Install > Reboot.
Wait for Device Ready notification.
Test the device.
FAULT WARRANTY
If none of these methods resolve the problem, it is almost certainly faulty and should be returned under warranty for repair or, preferably, replacement.
Good luck.
SOURCE: Hi, how do I turn
Hi,
Some DVDs can't change the Audio or Subtitles in Button of the Remote, try change in the Menu,
Try again with the Remote with another DVD Disc...

SOURCE: can not delete subtitles on my LG Plasma TV
Hi,
If you've got a cable receiver, you can change that in the menu of that receiver.
Or maybe the setting on textpage 888.
Cheers,
Gerard
