SOURCE: setting up my freeview box- NO CHANNELS FOUND

Hi.

The cable & wireless system is not capable of picking up the digital freeview frequencies.
Idealy you need to put a new aerial on the roof,
If this is not possible try an indoor aerial that you to plug in to the mains electrical supply.

SOURCE: How to acess set-up menu without factory remote

The manual can be found near the bottom of the Product page for this TV.

From the manual, pg 11 -

If you misplaced your Remote Control you can still access most settings via the MAIN MENU screen when you press both CH UP (8) and DOWN (9) on the TV set. Some features of your TV Set will not be accessible without the Remote Control. If you lost your Remote Control, contact a Sharp Authorized Servicer by calling 1-800-BE-SHARP for a replacement.

Let us know if this fixes it for you.

freezing is a sign of poor signal , if you connect to cable , try a DVD player if the picture still freeze that mean the TV is bad and has to be returned and replaced. if the picture is good with DVD player as your service provider to give you a better service by boosting the signal

I have a brand new technika tv 216/54g. It has freeview built in. I have a brand new indoor digital amplified aerial also technika but I cant get it to pick up any stations. Do I need anything else? please...

Hi there,

You don't necessarily need anything else, but you may not have a strong enough signal to pick up the digital/freeview channels using an indoor aerial. It could also be that the indoor aerial is not correctly aligned.

If the signal strength is lower than approx. 50%, the TV may detect them during the automatic channel scan but it wont store them. When the signal strength for any digital channel is 50% or lower it's more or less unwatchable - the picture would be constantly breaking-up or freezing and the audio drops out continually. Trying to scan for channels using an indoor aerial is rather hit and miss. Numerous attempts may be necessary before you get any channels.

Assuming you have a roof aerial, it is far easier to temporarily connect the TV to a fixed aerial point while you run the automatic channel scan. The TV will store all the channels and you can then move it to it's permanent location and connect the indoor aerial. You can then adjust the indoor aerial with the channels already stored until you find a location for the aerial where you have a good signal.

Doing it this way also eliminates the possibility of a fault with the TV and confirms that you are performing the channel scan correctly. If the TV is connected to a fixed aerial point and you are still unable to receive or store any channels, then it's likely that you are performing the channel scan incorrectly or there is a fault with the TV.

Please try scanning your channels using a known working fixed aerial point. If you are still unable
to receive any channels - or you don't have any fixed aerial points - please post back for further assistance.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
BElectric

hi when fitting an new aerial line you need to put a splitter in the line.
4963215_1-oo4k03phwtyaxld0gomgkgbv-2-0.jpg it looks like this. they say satellite/tv on them this will stop interference from the boosters and the tvs on the same line, you connect it on the main arial line. you can then use both boosters if signal is weak but most digital aerials are good enough without them. it you have the right arial for your area. there are meany sizes. but say you are 15 miles from your tower then use a small aerial has the same fitting as this pic. that is out side aerials, inside aerials ie in loft you need a high gain aerial , long type. hope this helps. also if the aerial is not lined up it will not get great signal there is an app you can use on iphone or androids, tables etc to help you position the aerial in the right place it's called Uk aerial alignment . tool on app shows you the towers in your area and the best ones to use and shows you the aliment to the tower for best results. good luck

Lost arial connection

Have you made sure that the correct 'source' has been selected on your TV? What does the TV show? Does it show, for instance, the menu?
Connect it all up and turn on. Now repeatedly press the button on your tv remote that changes the signal input. This button will be marked as a square or circle with an arrow through it, or will me named source or input. With any luck you should see your digibox.

Problem with digital tv

The Antenna may be in a weak signal area heres a quick cheap fix
Get a Freeview Box and connect it via SCART LEAD to your tv, if the Box picks up a good signal then your tuner may be very weak..
You may want to try a BOOSTER to the TV first, and if that fails go with an external freeview. My neighbor has a 42 and the freeview box WITHOUT an antenna attached resolves all the channels..so give that a try. I have a goodmans too with a slow tuner and I have to retune it sometimes even though it gets a good signal from the antenna. I will be getting an external tuner freeveiw box.

You may want to try a signal booster,or a different arial. Not sure if your old CRT or arial was digital ,but you should have a tools button on your remote or a diagnotic option in your menu that will show signal strenght.I have a Terk HDTVo.It is a small bomarang shaped antenna that pics up stations 50 miles north (direction it is pointing)and the only issue is when storms roll thru.I have added a motorola 484095-001-00 signal booster and that has solved most of the issues with the farthest stations plus added a few more from different directions. You could also add a antenna and if your original arial is run with coax just use a diplexer to combine the signals.Well hope this helps and good luck.

Technika 15.4'' tv/dvd can't find antenna that is plugged in

When almost all TV stations went digital, analog TV signals received via an antenna all but disappeared in the United States. So you will not be able to get much, if anything at all without a digital TV connected to a cable system or a satellite system. Welcome to the new economy! You want it? You will PAY for it! Radio (first FM, then AM) will most likely be the next casualty of the new economy!

Bought freeview thomson dti6300 and installed. only have 66 of the 88 channels it found. these channels are all bbc ones and itv, c4 and other channels i got with old box. is there an update later on?

hi alot of people have been having this problem when they change boxes it seems that some of them dont have as much good signal as other boxes the best solution would be to buy an arieal booster to boost the signal strength.
Have you tried researching again just to see if it picks them up.

Also if you can get to your arial easily then moving it slghtly can improve the signal but can also make things worse but you can try just remember where it was when you started.
Failing that then an arial booster would be the best option
