The tv willnot power up .the light keeps flashing and huming

The TV went off while we were watching it .The sound was still on but the picture would not come on. You can turn it on with the remote control, but you have to unplug it to turn it off. The light on the front of the t.v. will keep flashing and keeps making a screeching sound.

If you are using a cable or satellite box, the box could be bad or the video wire could be bad or loose.

Also chance of bad solder near flyback transformer .

Tv went crack while watching. Picture and sound went out & red light flashing.Waited a min, turned off and back ok with picture and sound returning concerned if we should continue using or not?

Hello,
As long as you can see and here the picture with no problems you should be fine. The tv's put it heat which make things expand and contract. Sometimes things creek and crack. I've had two tv's that do that. Don't hesitate to keep a fire extinguisher handy though along with some alarms.(houses should have these at all times anyways)

I was watching tv and picture went out. I still have sound but no picture. When I turn tv off power light flashes 2 times (red).

Check the input on the back of the tv and the output on the back of the device attached to the tv if this dose not work try and plug the device into a different port on your television

The tv willnot power up .the light keeps flashing and huming

Check the horizontal output transistor (H.O.T.) next to the flyback transformer. If it is shorted, the switching supply won't turn on.

TV WENT OFF BY ITSSELF

This TV has reached the end of its (short) life. Needs to be replaced.

You can try looking at what kind of TV it is, what model, and look at the manufacturer's web site, check for the manual, look up what it means when the green light flashes. Might be a code that means something but I think the TV is dead.

Power button Flashes

For the first one, please list the model number and count the blinks. Also, can you please post each problem separately. It will get too confusing trying to address 3 sets with different but similar problems.
Thanks,

RCA Guide plus gold gemstar T.V

Unless you are savvy with IC's you are going to have to go to the repair shop my friend. The crappy part is that the IC has a price tag of about $10.00 but a repair shop is going to nail you anywhere from $80.00-$120.00. Sorry for the bad news but it happens.

TV WENT OFF BY ITSSELF

This may denote a proble in either your switching powers supply or your Horizontal section derived high voltage power supply. These are both very dangerous sections in your television. My next question is important; do you have a background in electronics? If not I would not advise you working on this problem yourself and that you take the TV to a repair shop for servicing. If you do have some background in electronics, I would like for you to make the following obeservations: What was the TV doing (it actions)prior to it going out? Did you hear any sounds before it went out like buzzing or crackling? What do you hear when you try to turn it on now, clicking? These questions are just to develop some background into what might be happening to your set. Thank you, Shuttle83
