Yes, the screen can be replaced. The screen is comprised of 3 screens. The Fresnal Screen (inner screen), Lenticular Screen (middle screen), and the Protective Screen (outer screen). Please see below for links to these items.

A red tint in a DLP usually means a issue with the optical light engine it uses. A faint chance if a high pitched whine or fan like sound is the color wheel.......

This is the reason I am careful about walking people into the tech menu on sets--one wrong move and poof!If you by a miracle find the full service manual it would have the information needed (if set has this) for a hard reset---other wise you would have to try to with the manual reset every setting to factory one at a time...........

No,is it not.It a repairable tv.The tv have a problems known as a convergence problems,it dead.The tv colors lines R,G,B mis alignment,have colors shadows pictures or 3D pictures look alike.The tv convergence board have dead 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all it resistors too.These parts on the tv convergence board,must be replaced to solved the tv picture convergence problems.The shop,will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.

This may simply be a focus problem or something to do with the convergence setup.
To perform any service work on these sophisticated devices, at least, one needs a Service Manual, for their exact make and model, this gives one the test and setup, and troubleshooting procedures and also the parts numbers required.
It can be extremely difficult to track down problematic part, even for an expert, however if one can track down the fault to a board, then replacement isn't that hard.

Have You Replaced Convergence ICs,If not replace Both of them and 2 resistors 2.7ohms 1watt ICs are STK ICs big Black IC will have part number on them STK392-020. Mats Electronics has them in stock

Warm water is most likely the only thing you can use or else you'll damage the screen.

How are the lights blinking in the front? All 3? Combination of the 3? Let me know and I can tell you where to start? Any funny noises that are there or not there anymore?

change theconvergence amplifiers STK 392-040 also check all resistors in the convergence circut if you want to test it first press MUTE 183 on the remote "DO NOT PRESS ANY ADJUSTMENTS AS YOU WLL TOTALLY SCREW UP THE PICTURE THIS IS ONLY SO YOU CAN SEE WHAT THECONVERGENCE IS LIKE"

Check the horizontal output transistor (H.O.T.) next to the flyback transformer. If it is shorted, the switching supply won't turn on.

check all the wire connection to the tv.

The old yellow, red, white RCA cables are analogue signals, while HDMI cables only carry data. They are in no way compatible. You can buy active conversion boxes that will convert analog to digital, but simple cables cannot work
