About a month ago my LG Tromm washer (approx 3 years old) began occasionally giving a DE door error and of course, stopping. I would open the door, close it, press the run button, and it would proceed. This has escalated to where it may give 20 or more DEs during each load. There is never anything I can see that is interfering with the door or its latch. Occasionally during one of these error marathons, it will display IE (input error)--again there is never anything at fault with the water input. Lately when the machine stops with a DE, it no longer unlocks the door, requiring me to press run, it immediately will go to DE again, and this second time, it will unlock the door.
A DE Error Code is indicative of a “Door Error”. This indicates that the washing machine door is not shutting, locking or opening. This means that there is something faulty with the door switch and locking mechanism . You should get this replaced or you may have water where you do not want it. biigg53566
My washer just gave me the same error.
I cleaned the pump and emptied all the water from it.
The pump is on the front of your washer under the door. Just remove the cover and unscrew. Have a pot to catch the water, it will stink.
Then I checked the seal around the door and there was a dime in there and I removed it, now my washer is working again.
there is a small hose that has to be clean also next to waste water filter behind the small door.

Front load or topload? Ftontload needs door lock, top load and adjustment can be made.
My washer used to have a door error problem as well. We called in an appliance repair specialist and got the problem fixed though. Something was in the way and jamming it up. I am so glad that we got the issue resolved. Appliance Repair for the St Petersburg FL Area

Where to buy the magnet
My top loading LG washing machine was showing dE error frequently. It seem a small magnet at the door latch had come off. So I took a permanent magnet from an electronic device and stuck to the machine with an adhesive tape from inside where the control panel is situated. The dE error has disappeared now! This is a temporary solution. I shall find a small piece of magnet soon to fit inside the door.

I have the same problem and now there is water in my machine that smells
I have the same problem with my 0642hw. I replaced the lock/switch assembly, but that didn't help. I also made sure that all seals are clean and that nothing is abstructing the door.
As a side note, mine only does it during the rinse/spin cycle, but not during the actual wash cycle.
the door is closed, but an error message keeps coming up that says the door is open
Success Tq!
