My yellows ansd greens are switched

there are a number of possible errors here. have the machine align its printheads then have the machine complete colour calibration ( you will need good working printheads to complete the calibrations when this is finished have the machine print out its config pages and demo print page ( you can find how to do this in the online user manual) this is done to Isolate the printer from the fault - if The demo page and config pages are printed correctly then the error lies external to the printer ( the software printing the document) OR check to see if the correct printer driver is installed (to be sure uninstall then re-install) open the driver and check to see in Preferences/colour that the settings are 'let machine decide colours' or set to adobe pdf. print out the test page from the driver and pay close attention to the windows logo at the top of the page- it should match that on the windows start screen if you can see that the green yellows are still out of calibration then you may need to change the printheads ( CYAN/Yellow) as the error may lie internal to the printhead. at the end of the day the fault lies most likely with the software setup or the printheads.

HP OFFICEJET PRO L7480 (All in One) problem with

Hello.

From HP Support:

Step one: Reset the product
  1. Without turning the product off, remove the power cord from the back of the product.
  2. Wait 30 seconds and then plug the power cord into the back of the product.
  3. If the product is not already on, use the On button to turn it on.
Step two: Check the condition of the paper and reload it
  1. Replace any paper that is ripped, dusty, curled, wrinkled, or bent.
NOTE: Use only plain, white, unused paper in the product until the issue is resolved.
  2. Make sure that all the paper is the same size and type. Because only one type of paper can be used in the product at a time, paper types should never be mixed.
  3. Tap the stack of paper on a flat surface to align the edges.
  4. Make sure that the stack of paper to be loaded in the product contains no fewer than 10 and no more than 25 sheets of paper.
NOTE: Do not load too much paper in the product.
  5. Insert the stack of paper into the product and gently push the paper guides snugly against the paper. Make sure that the paper is completely inserted into the product and can be picked up by the paper rollers.
  6. Try printing again. If the issue is not resolved, try loading different brands of paper and different types of paper, one type at a time, into the product and then try printing again. If the issue persists, continue with the next step.
Step three: Adjust the paper settings in the print driver The paper settings in the print driver must match the paper settings for at least one of the installed paper trays.
  1. Open a document in the program being used to print.
  2. Click File , click Print , and then click Properties . The product Properties dialog box appears.
  3. Click the Paper/Quality tab.
  4. Choose the appropriate paper size from the Size is drop-down menu.
  5. Choose the appropriate paper type from the Type is drop-down menu.
  6. Click OK and then click OK again to print the document..
  7. If the issue is not resolved, continue with the next step.

NOTE: If the issue is resolved and it is necessary to print on another type of paper, load the new paper type into the product and then repeat steps 2 through 7 for the new paper. These changes do not change the default print settings. The print settings return to the default the next time the program is opened.
Cause Any of the following issues can cause the error message to appear:
  • The paper trays are empty or overloaded.
  • The paper is curled.
  • The print side, or shiny side, of the paper is not loaded in the input tray face down.
  • The paper might not be engaged with the feed rollers.
  • The paper-width guide is pressed against the paper stack too tightly.
  • The paper tray is not completely inserted into the product.
  • The paper settings in the print driver do not match the paper loaded in the paper tray.
  • The rubber paper-feed rollers are coated with dust.

  • Hope these suggestions help.

Hello, i have a HP Officejet Pro L7480 which did

Hi

If it attempts to feed and expecially when you hear a cricking sound. It means that the paper guide it too tighten that it holds the paper. Try to loose up the paper tray guide. Are you using a paper tray. If not, put small paper or change the correct setting of the paper size setting to auto detect if any.

The try to print again.

Printer test page shows no ink even after

This could be an extremely simple issue or a technical one.

My first suggestion would be to clean the contacts where the Ink Cartridge touch the seat in the printer.

Take out the print Cartridges and look to see where the device make contact. Try cleaning them off with a lint free towel and some rubbing alcohol. Another method is to actually use an eraser to clean off the leads. Generally older printers just end up wearing away the contacts and the printer has trouble seeing the Ink cartridges.

Also, sometimes using no name cartridges can cause issues as well. Verify that the plugs or covers on the Cartridge were removed properly.

Sadly, it is very difficult to repair printers and is generally not cost effective.

I wouldn't spend to much money on it as the general life cycle for a printer is 1-2 years these days.

Good luck!

How should i clean its printer head

There are three areas of the printhead that need to be cleaned: the plastic ramps on both sides of the ink nozzles, the edge between the ink nozzles and the electrical contacts, and the electrical contacts. Follow these steps to clean the printhead. Figure 4: Three areas to cleanc01481825.gif 1 - Plastic ramp on the side of the ink nozzles 2 - The edge between the ink nozzles and the electrical contacts 3 - The electrical contacts
CAUTION: Do not touch the ink nozzles. Do not touch the electrical contacts with your finger. Use only cleaning materials to touch the electrical contact areas. Figure 5: Do not touch the electrical contactsc01481826.jpg
  1. Gather the following cleaning materials:
    • Several clean, lint-free cloths or papers. Coffee filters and glass-cleaning cloths work well.
    • Distilled or bottled water. Do not use tap water, because it can contain contaminants that can damage the printhead.
  2. Lightly dampen a clean, lint-free cloth.
  3. Use the damp cloth to wipe the electrical contacts from the bottom to the top. Do not go past the edge between the electrical contacts and the ink nozzles. Repeat this motion until no ink appears on the cloth.

I have had this printer for almost two years and

Call HP and just Upgrade your printer. HP Printer Tech Support would be more than happy in giving you discounts, you can actually get a brand new printer half the price that you will see on the website plus you can also get an extra year of warranty just by adding $1.00 to the total price of the printer.

I keep getting a rear door open message on my hp

Hai.....
There is a problem with the rear access door.First of all check if it is closed or fitted properly , else proceed next.

The L7480 usually has a duplexer which has a rear access panel on it but this is NOT the panel that the printer detects as open.

In the L7480 anything that is connected/slotted into the rear slot/hole is considered to be the rear access panel. This means the duplexer (which is standard on the L7780) is seen as the "rear access panel".

Stand looking at the back of the printer
Inside the slot on the right side you will see a green circuit board with four metal contacts on it. Check that these are not soiled or damaged in any way. Clean if necessary.

On the right side of the dupler you will see only TWO metal pins that spring out and should make contact with two of the contact points. It's possible that these are damaged and/or broken. You may need to free, re-bend, etc... these CAREFULLY so that they stick out properly. Ultimately the goal is to ensure that the metal pins touch the appropriate contacts on the circuit board.

If all else fails, check your warranty and contact HP to see if they can provide a replacement duplexer. If the circuit board itself (in the printer) is damaged though you may need to return the printer itself.

Hope that helps.

If you need a manual help opening up your printer , get it here.

Regards........

IT WILL BE OUT THE WINDOW IN A MINATE RE ROGER dALTRY

If the ink cartridge is in place correctly then you may want to open the window and get ready to chuck it out. You can try reseating the cartridge again but I have a feeling the senseing mechanism is damaged or the electronics mainboard has problems. Depending on how the heads were cleaned and what replacment cartridges were used you may have a buildup of dried ink around the head. Some of this may be causing the incorrect ink cartridge error. You could try cleaning it with a paer towl soaked in vinegar. That disolves dried ink. It may dislodge the ink on the sensor arm that may be showing that the cartridge is missing. Past that I can't suggest any repair to try.

Unfortunetly inkjet printers are just not cost effective to repair even with minor parts. If this requires a new print head assembly or other parts that will cost more than just going out and buying a new printer. Having said that I would not replace it with a inkjet. You will be much happier with a laser printer even a cheap one. A color laser can be had for about $100 these days. While the toner cost may seem higher it works out much much cheaper than what a inkjet costs. The biggest bonus you will appreciate is no more cleaning cycles that seem to use up a new cartridge.

Ok HP do all they can to stop people from using third party products, they do NOT want people to use any other ink but theirs. period. Many just will not work, or work badly as you have found, they often will NOT accept and use re-filled ones either. it really is a mafia. Consumables are where they make their money.. If they could they would Give them away just like cell phones, once you buy their product, that have a pipeline into your wallet, at least thats what they think, and you will find only original ones will give satisfactory service. Always choose a printer with the cheapest consumables, even paying more at purchase it will save money in the long run..what a swiz huh?
