Culligan water softener Mark 100. C5 code is on. Water softener is not working. What does this code mean?

The main piston is frozen up and needs to be replaced. It gets bent due to poor design. Culligan sells a rebuild kit for this that includes the piston, seal kit, brine refill piston and sleeve along with a new metal bracket to prevent the shaft on the main piston from bending and causing this issue again. There is also a new C clip for the drive gear on top.

What is an E3 code on a Culligan Medalist Series?

https://www.manualslib.com/manual/859287/Culligan-Medallist-Series.html?page=8 Quoting from link to free manual shown: FAILURE MODE There are certain conditions that can be interpreted by the circuit board as a failure of the drive motor or motor position switch. Upon failure detection the control will cease further operation. A telephone hand set symbol will be shown in the upper left corner of the display and the error code will be shown. Listed below are the different error codes. 1. Motor Always Turning Error code "E1" occurs when the circuit board detects changes in the motor program switch when the motor is not supposed to be turning. The phone icon and "E1" will be lit in the display. 2. Motor Never Turns The Culligan Medallist Series control is equipped to detect no change in the motor position when the motor is supposed to be turning (motor or piston locked in a frozen position). The AccuSoft circuit board will apply power to the motor for 20 seconds. If there is no change in the motor homing or position switch, the control will power down for 1 minute. The circuit board will repeat this procedure two more times in an attempt to remove the obstruction. If no movement has been detected, the control will permanently power down and a phone icon and an "E2" will appear in the display. 3. Homing Error Error code "E3" occurs when the circuit board detects when the control is unexpectedly in the home position. The phone icon and "E3" will be lit in the display. Error Display Cancellation The error code display can be removed by removing the power to the control for 1 minute. After clearing an error condition, the control will default to the factory settings when power is restored.

I have the E3 error on my culligan medallion series water softener. I unplugged it and reset it but the next morning it had the same error.

I think you need to replace some parts with the Culligan-set 01016267 . I did have the same problem and after it was replaced everything went just as normal.

How do you change the filter to a culligan water

Here are instruction to remove the filter housing. This is from my tips posting. Culligan filter housings are just Pentek/Pentair water filter housings and these tips apply to virtually any filter housing. Frequently whole house filters can be very difficult to remove. The canisters become almost impossible to loosen, even after pressing the pressure relief valve and using a housing wrench. The most common reasons for this are the housing was put back on with the housing wrench, debris in the housing threads and a bad pressure relief valve.h2oservices.jpgl76w9ont156vs3p099e2rqu+8nt56e+fbm9ldnps+cnj57dmpqamzqoj3nqs4doe4cr7sqwf8acoamtivyaikaaaaasuvork5cyii=How to remove a stuck filter housing.1. Turn off the incoming water. 2. By-Pass the Softener3. Go to the nearest cold water faucet, open it and let the water run until pressure drops significantly.4. Turn the water off at outlet of filter (If housing has shutoff on top off head, turn this off now).5. Press and hold the pressure relief button to relieve pressure further.6. Use filter wrench to unscrew housing (If it still won't loosen repeat steps 2-5).7. After removing, clean housing thoroughly, make sure threads are clean on filter bowl and housing head. Lubricate threads of housing and head with plumbers faucet lube or silicone. 8. Clean and lubricate the O-Ring (replace the O-ring every couple years or if housing leaks after screwing back on). It helps to flip the O-Ring over a couple times per year. 9. Replace the cartridge filter and screw the housing back on. 10. Turn the incoming water on slowly while holding the pressure relief button down until all air is purged.11. Open outlet and let water run to cold water faucet until all air is purged.12. Put softener back in service.IMPORTANT! Only tighten the filter housing by HAND! NEVER use the housing wrench to tighten the housing. I hope these tips help you with the angst of removing stubborn filter housings.RJ

Culligan water softener mark 89 model 3526-82,3526-83. unit doesn't seem to be drawing brine during regeneration

Either the electric valve has failed, or the line is plugged. Try blowing out the water line first and free it up from buildup and then if it seems unobstructed, check the valve function. Salt crystal buildup is common.

How to. Bypass water conditioner of Culligan Estate 2

At the top of the conditioner, there is a tube running across the back of the head near the water line connections. the tube has push knobs on each end. With the blue knob pushed fully inward (knob up against the barrel of the valve / tube), water is routed through the water conditioner where it is softened. Water may be bypassed around the conditioner by pushing the red knob fully inward. Avoid "slapping" the valve when shifting from one position to another. see manual here: https://www.culliganmidmissouri.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/Estate2-Softener-Operating.pdf
