Time to use your warranty or throw it out. Not a serviceable product, you can't order a set of bearings for this. sorry

Some lubricant might make removal easy.

RE: Cuisinart Vari-Speed CB-4. For no obvious reason, the blade mechanism on the bottom of the jar seems to have seized up and won't turn, causing it to sound as if it's striping the clutch. Fixable?

Yes fixable a number of ways Remove the blades and punch out the shaft. Clean it all and then reassemble it with lots of water pump grease (it's waterproof). Seizing happens because liquid goes down between the shaft and housing and sets. Or You can replace the blade assembly. Blender blade assembly no longer turns

I had this problem and, after seeing these posts, was motivated to avoid paying the cost of a new blade unit. Here's how it can be fixed:1. Take a kitchen hotpad and hold the blade (top) side of the unit in your hand as you unscrew the rubber gear on the base. This is a left-handed screw, so you must turn it clockwise, to free it up. This should be doable by hand. Be careful, removing the gear exposes a washer note which side is up, and place both the gear and washer aside.2. With the blades held in the hotpad, unscrew the top nut, again clockwise. This takes more effort, but it will eventually give way. As this nut comes off, it exposes a rectangular post, to which everything is attached.3. Remove a washer with a rectangular cutout. Make sure you remember which side is up (I think it makes no difference). This may require some rocking to remove the washer from the round-threaded end. It will come off.4. Remove both blades in a similar manner. Note their orientation, which is important.5. Next, remove a rubber gasket. On mine, it has a groove which is asymmetric. I don't think the orientation is important, but, again, you may want to note it.6. What is left is an axle inside a sleeve. There are no bearings. In mine, I had to tap/drive this out. Take a flat-ended rod (ideas: I used the hex-shaped post end of a nut socket. An old drill bit you don't care about, rotated would also work). Place the unit on the edge of the counter, up-side pointing up, in a way so the bottom end of the axle could fall free when you drive it out. Gently tap the axle through the unit, using the helper tool when the axle is within the sleeve. It will drive completely out.7. Clean everything. I simply scrubbed the axle and took a small brush to the inside of the sleeve. This doen't need to be perfect, but anything left on either surface may ultimately impair the functioning of the axle.8. Lubricate the axle with household oil or a dab of grease. You will find that the axle will now slide into the sleeve fairly easily (I had the best luck from the top.)9. Reattach the base gear, then the top in the obvious order. Everything should spin freely from this point on.REMEMBER: always use the hotpad whenever you grip the blades and to tighten the bolt on top so that the axle protrudes slightly above the nut.Good luck!

20 Most Recent Cuisinart SB-5600 Supreme Super 600 60-Ounce 6-Speed Stainless Steel Blender with Glass Jar 60 Ounce suddenly stop working and no power on

At least on Amazon, the customer reviews are not so good ... only a 3.1 out of 5 for 38 reviews. Some of the poor ratings are that the unit just stopped working or a plastic housing part broke. You may have blown the motor. If it is still under warranty, and you have the receipt, you might consider shipping it back to Cuisinart ... but you pay for the shipping

I have a Cuisinart BFP-703. It started smoking while chopping ice. It stopped working. Took bottom off, unscrewed board, tried following wiring, one white and one black from board.

Sometimes they can be soldered to a circuit board. If it is inline, it could look like a small metal tube with what looks like white porcelain on one end where the wire comes out. If this is present, it is a circuit breaker similar to a fuse but instead of blowing with an electrical overload, it is sensitive to heat like from an over heating motor. This may be glued to a solid part of the motor like the steel plate lamination and must be replaced. These don't reset. These can also be completely inside a piece of plastic tubing as their leads are not insulated. Good luck.

Youtube video shows an example, but be sure to leave power disconnected for several hours in case there is a charged capacitor inside that could give a danagerous shock. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QrU4DqzrU1A

Blade won't turn in Cuisinart Duo Blender -- not motor

You have to unscrew and disassemble the blades - pretty easy, just take two rags and grab the blades with one (so you don't cut yourself), and then turn the rubber piece on the other side COUNTER CLOCKWISE, opposite of what you would do to loosen. the rod that runs in the middle that's connected to the blades on mine was all corroded, so I sprayed it down with WD-40, took my Dremel to it and smoothed out the corrosion, added some fresh grease ($2 tube goes a long way), washed the other parts with some Dawn and dried completely, reassembled and it runs much better! Not sure how long it will last, but I have a feeling that one time I ran the blender for a long time instead of pulsing, and the grease that came with it couldn't handle the heat from it turning so long. Anyway good luck!

Cuisinart CB 1400: motor won't engage. Blades turn (not frozen), power light comes on, but blender, pulse, or other functions don't work. Suggestions?

If the power light is on and the motor is not running the circuit board that starts the motor is defective. You could try to bypass the control board and apply power directly to the motor to verify the motor is ok and no blown fuse or circuit breaker. then you get to replace the circuit board or isolate a failing component on the circuit board.

My Cuisinart blender start leaking after a few

Here is a list of things to check for: 1. Make sure the blender base (black plastic) is tight to the jar. 2. Make sure you have installed the rubber washer between the blender blade assembly and the jar. 3. Make sure your rubber washer is free from any crud that may have accumulated and dried on. You may have to soak the washer and gently scrub with a scrubber sponge. If it's really cruddy you may have to repeat as necessary. 4. Make sure you have not caught any water (or other liquid) when filling it between the base and the jar. When you pour out the contents it will appear as if it is leaking.

Lights blink, but Cuisinart Smartpower 7-speed wont turn.

The thermal fuse is blown. You can buy a replacement from RadioShack for $1.69 You have to remove the old one and solder in the new one. If youre "handy" its very easy. Take it to a repair shop, you pay about the same as a new one. Its too bad that most electronics made today are cheaper to throw away and buy a new one rather than fix them when they break.
