I have a Pillips Universal Remote. I did end up installing the code on my TV which is a Sylvania that was manufactured on Sept. 2002. After installing the code it worked very well pushing the up and down channel. The numbers from 0-9 worked well too. The problem I have is that I had ended up pushing the subtittle button with the two CC. What occured was a #1 on each corner of the TV screen appeared and numbers within the middle appears with a small balck rectangle just above center. The problem is the remote wont allow me to get out of it. Im just not sure what it could be, I only know that the remote dosent respond to all the features that's on the Universal Remote in accordance with the TV.

I did the holding of code search and all that and my phillips universal remote now works for my phillips tv BUT it will not let me use the channel up or down button, I have to actually put the channel number in each time(i.e. 0-5 for channel 5 and 0-6 for channel 6). When I hit channel up or down it goes to a black screen like av1 or av2. Is there something I did wrong?
