Look on the bottom of your player. Between the two front feet you should see a narrow slot that is about 1 1/2" long (it should say "emergency hole". Shine a light into the slot, you should see a black pin about as big around as a pencil lead. Carefully push this pin in the direction of the arrow. It should release the drawer and allow you to open it.

Have you checked to see if it is off track? Sometimes when these machines get bumpbed, dropped, or fall they can jump track. You have to take the cover off and inspect to see if it is off track when it closes and opens. It should go all the way back on the track when it closes. Be careful not to shock yourself. If it is on when you do it and your hand touches the metal parts inside you can get seriously burned or shocked.

I had a similar problem, and I took the player apart to find that there was a motor that has a snap-in connection to a circuit board and it was just disconnected. I reconnected it and it worked fine. There are quite a few philips head screws to remove to get into the case. It slides off the back. Once inside, it's very simple looking, it is really un-intimidating. You may have 4 more very small screws to remove directly on top of the DVD tray. If you need to take it off to see under the tray that is. I'd like to guess the problem is that the motor that ejects the tray is disconnected.
