You can hear the sound when you turn on the tv, red light goes off you hear the sound and see the black screen, and than it turn off and red light come back on. check input or source

I had the same exact problem.
I removed the bulb and cleaned it. There is a small screen at the top of the bulb and it was covered with dust. Once it was cleaned I replaced the bulb and it solved the problem.

Most a likely a problem with your Y-Sustain board which will then not drive the screen giving a black picture. The fuse on the board may be open circuit & need replaced but most likely you will need to have the sustain board replaced.

I suspect the lamp is failing on your TV. The lamp replacement code is listed on the side of the TV on a sticker that is orange and white. It will start with BP96-. there is a bad capacitor in the power board
The Can shaped little device will have a domed or puffed up top on it the value is printed on the side you can , or have someone replace the cap and you should be all set
