LG WM3001HPA washer (front load) - have to drain black hose after every single load (drains about 32 ounces), or else it leaks all over the floor. Is this normal? It also smells bad - and is a real pain if you have guests and forget to tell them. Washer drains directly into pipes - we don't have a tub. Any suggestions? Hate this problem!

We only use HE detergent, only fill to the line recommended, it's the water coming out from the pump hose that smells bad, I clean out the hosing after every single wash... and the machine is pretty new - only used maybe 30 times !

Your drain pump assembly impeller has most likely deteriorated. I just replaced the assembly on my unit. There are actually two small motor/pumps. I would recommend replacing them both. You will find the videos of how to do this on youtube.

I bought the parts off of Amazon

SOURCE: My washer won't spin & drain

Well, you have covered the usual reason for a no drain (and of course it won't spin if it wont drain because it's meant to stop the spin if there's water still in there). It sounds like the empty pump has failed. Can you hear it whirring on the empty cycle?

If you get under the machine and locate the pump, most have a fan-like assembly you can grab hold of and turn manually, occasionally this will free the pump up if it has something caught in it or the bearings are a little stiff. Next step is to remove it and clean it out, then run it on the bench and check it works. You will either fix it, or know that it's dead and have to get a new one at this point

SOURCE: LG WM2487 front load washer spews suds out of port on rear.

You are likely using too much detergent or the detergent is not high-efficiency detergent. Change detergents and/or lower amount and this problem should go away.

The water port on the back allows air inside the tub to escape. However, if the wrong type or quantity of detergent are used, excess suds will flow from this port.

SOURCE: LG front load washer does not drain after cycle.

Check for 120 volts to the pump motor while in drain mode, if the pump does not run, or just hums, replace the pump motor. Some LG's have both a recirculating and drain motor on the pump casing, so be sure to replace the correct motor.

SOURCE: how do you drain the drain pump in lg front load

There is a small panel on the bottom left front of the washer with a tab on the top middle holding it onto the front of the washer. depress this tab with a small flathead screwdriver and the panel will open downward. You will now see a small round black piece on the left with a flat screw head on it, about an inch in diameter. unscrew this about a quarter of a turn and it will come out with a small hose attached. This is connected to the drain pump. Have a shop vac ready, pull the black plug out of the hose and this will drain the pump. The larger round piece on the right, about 3 inches in diameter is your drain pump. After draining all the water unscrew it with your hand. When you get this out it will have a screen attached which needs to be cleaned at least once a year.

Lg front load washer drain hose out ot machine leaking

IF it is leaking on the floor, the hose may be damaged or cracked. Since you did not post the model number, it is hard to say what the next step is.

My LG WM2455 has water leaking from lower front near the front access door. I have checked the catch basin and drained the tube but still get leakage after the next load. What could the problem be?

If the washer is leaking water the drain pump might have a hole or crack. Or, the bearings might be worn out. Replace the drain pump if it is leaking water, they're not repairable.
Check the condition of the drain hose that connects the tub to the pump.

Leaky washing machine LG

It is so common that the drain leaks in many ways and is the most problematic fault in a washing machine. In all occasions it is important that your observation is most important and so is vital to the identification /rectification and solution. If you have noticed that water has leaked then as the drain hose pump/valve and fittings are located on the underside of the machine it is important that you look for possible leaks here. In some cases the drain hose would be clogged at the drain end to outlet of the house and so there will be back flushing resulting in overflow to the outside. Also the drain pump/valve can be clogged or the drain hose clamps can be loose on the grip which can all cause the leak to occur. Removing and cleaning the drain pump/valve, tightening of the hose is also very important. Also water can leak if there are gaps on the front door gaskets and must be checked but this will happen only during the cycle and not on the drain cycle end.

Water is all over the floor from the washing machine. What could be the problem

water pump, hose or tub.. depends when you noticed water. After it was filled? during draining or filling? Also a clogged drain will cause backwash. Holes in tub from rust will leak out water, water pump cracked can leak water or hoses to drain or to washer not sealed or cracked. Overfill from a faulty fill valve can also do that, but then you'd see lots of water all obver on that one.

How do i clean my filter for my lg washer

On the front bottom left is a small access paner about 5 x3 1/2 in. Gently pop it open from the top. Tou will see a black drain hose with a plug in the end. Place a pan on the floor and remove the plug and drain the resudial water from the machine until it stops. Then, unscrew the filter in the same opening counter clockwise to remove it. Clean and replace in the reverse order installing plug in hose and do not over tighten filter. Run a load and check for leaks and replace panel.
