If you open the cartridge door, the color coding is looks like violet color?. That is the magenta cartridge.

likely this is because Windows doesnt come with the drivers built in for your model of printer.

Error 41 means there is a major problem with the printhead, usually
requires a print head replacement.
My advice is to take it to a
Brother service centre while if it is under warranty.
If it's out of warranty they are usually a throw away job, the heads cost as much as the printer.

Sorry I know what it feels like, just have a go and see what you can do, clean the heads and so on.

THE ERROR 41 INDICATES AN INCORRECT VOLTAGE COMMING FROM THE PRINTHEAD, THE PRINTHEAD WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED AND THE HEAD I.D. WILL NEED TO BE RESET, ALSO, BROTHER RECOMENDS THAT YOU CHANGE ALL OF THE INKS TO NEW INKS. THE RESETING OF THE HEAD I.D. CAN ONLY BE PREFORMED BY AN ATHORIZED BROTHER SERVICE CENTER. THIS REPAIR CAN NOT BE PREFORMED BY THE END USER. I HOPE THIS HELPS.

warranty then it is cheaper to purchase a new, non Brother model. If you have been using non-Brother cartridges or refills, they can have too much water in them and it erodes the print head after a while. Usuall y just after warranty has expired!

Turn off CPU, Unplug Power cable, And all usb devices, let it sit for about 20mins. Plug it all back in. Turn on the CPU!

first, the error 41 will eventually come back sooner if not later.
error 41 means that your printhead is failing.
the error that its giving you now is that your black and cyan cartridges are empty. there are 4 colors in your prnter.

To find out your fax number you would need to contact the phone companyor plug a regular phone into the line and call someone who has caller id and that will give you the number too. Hope this helped

Dont bother checking anything. It needs a new print head and 4 new cartridges to prime it with. Call Brother and raise hell! there have a been a huge amount of these head failures! a new head costs around $100.00 but if you press brother will replace it. Including catridges it should come to around 150$
