To my recent experience the keyboard had to be replaced. It had something spilled on it unbeknown to the owner, making it squeal. I ordered a replacement, installed it and viola! No more squeal.
IF this noise is a shrill sqeauling noise, their is a good chance it will be the timing chain tensioner pulley/adjuster. These are an inxpensive item and should be replaced each time the timing chain is changed. It is very advisable to get this checked asap, because if the tensioner and chain fail, it will lead to a complete engine failure, wich will be very costly. Being a 2001 model, it may have quiet a few kilometers on it, on the tensioner could be original. Replace these components first, regardless. If noise persists their maybe wear in the valve train.
do you have the right belt. is the belt flush across with the top of the groove in the pulley. it should fit down in the pulley so that it is gripping on three sides of the belt.
Sounds like your color wheel is failing they make a loud sqeauling noise when they begin to fail.Run you somewhere around $300-400 to have a tech repair it.
could be your alternator. at start up. alternator usually has a big load because you just use your starter. it would recharge the battery and after a while the battery would be fully charge, the squealing noise will be gone.
check also all the belts if they are individual belts. use some belt dressings to eliminate the noise. sometimes the belt are just worn out and it would also make these noises.
