BMW 5 series 2001. No sound from any left hand side speakers. When i removed the unit I short circuited the signal from right to left and the speakers do work so no broken cables. Turn the unit off and on and there is no sound from left hand side. I have of course checked balance, front and back fade. Any ideas?

SOURCE: terrible noice when I turn the steering wheel on my 2001 BMW 325i

Make sure you check your power steering fluid... if it's even low, it will make a terrible noise...run it on empty too long and your can ruin your power steering pump.

SOURCE: radio has no sound or intermittent sound.bmw e39 5 series '00.

You might want to suspect a stereo amplifier. Does your car have DSP? In any case, look in the trunk on the left hand side. You will find your radio amplifier back there. It will have about a 3in connector with a bunch of twisted pair wiring. Remove the connector and make sure there is no water contamination. All sound processing takes place in the amp.

I have a 2010 cobalt lt. Today both my feont speakers quit working. And now my turn signals make no noise. Or the door chime or the seatbelt indicator does not work. What causes this and how do I fix it?...

The chimes an turn signal noise come out driver door speaker . Both front speakers not working could be a blown circuit fuse inside the radio or just blown front speaker channel . Your best bet , take it to a GM dealer or someother qualified repair shop . You have no idea of the complexity of this . The radio can set DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes , believe it or not !
DTC B1025, B1035, B1045, or B1055
DTC B1025 01: Audio Output 1 Left Front Circuit Short to Battery
DTC B1025 02: Audio Output 1 Left Front Circuit Short to Ground
DTC B1035 01: Audio Output 2 Right Front Circuit Short to Battery
DTC B1035 02: Audio Output 2 Right Front Circuit Short to Ground
DTC B1045 01: Audio Output 3 Left Rear Circuit Short to Battery
DTC B1045 02: Audio Output 3 Left Rear Circuit Short to Ground
DTC B1055 01: Audio Output 4 Right Rear Circuit Short to Battery
DTC B1055 02: Audio Output 4 Right Rear Circuit Short to Ground

Each of the audio output channel circuits (+) and (-), at the radio and audio amplifier have a DC bias voltage that is one half of the battery voltage. When using a DMM, each of the audio output channel circuits will measure approximately 6.5V DC. The audio being played on the system is produced by a varying AC voltage that is centered around the DC bias voltage on the same circuit. The AC voltage is what causes the speaker cone to move and produce sound. This voltage will vary depending on what type of audio is being listened to, talk or music, and type of music, as well as the volume setting of the system. Low volume and talk settings will measure around 1V AC and less, where constant music may measure 3V AC and slightly higher.
DTC B1287 01: Amplifier Control Signal Circuit Short to Battery
DTC B1287 02: Amplifier Control Signal Circuit Short to Ground
DTC B1287 04: Amplifier Control Signal Circuit Open

The radio provides a remote amplifier mute output circuit to control overall muting of the remote amplifier. The amplifier receives pulse width modulated (PWM) signals on the control circuit at varying duty cycle percentages for controlling muted and unmuted functions of the amplifier. Circuitry internal to the radio monitors the remote amplifier mute circuit for faults and sets the appropriate DTC when faults are detected.

2002 bmw 530 I oil pump located

Your oil pump is located inside the oil pan but is part of the chain assembly. The first picture is with the oil pan removed and the engine upside down (the red arrow) the second is right side up red arrow pointing to the oil pump. That gear with the chain on it is left handed thread when removing and installing. Hope this helps....

Bmw 328 coupe number plate light only one works but if i change the units to the side that works both work but the right side don't work whats wrong! on the right side i tested the power and it rads 1.1 on...

It sure sounds like there is a break in the circuit to the right hand bulb. See if you can follow the actual wire back to where it goes into the loom. Possibly a push fit plug loose or out.

The turn signals , displays on radio unit will not work completly

this is a short circuit on the bus network.
1- i would examine the exterior temperature sensor and that the two wires are not in contact.
2- on the rear right side of the trunk there is a white socket, make sure it has no water ingression in it.
3- take out the A/C head unit and try if things works.
4- Remove the instrument cluster and unplug its sockets and all should be working.

from the above we can detect what is causing this

Bad gas in BMWX5

hello Idmathes, the best way is to remove the fuel sending units on the left and right sides so that you don't run anymore fuel through the system. the bad part of removing the sending units is that they have a specific installation angle. does the fuel just have water in it, or is it contaminated with dirt or something else? any foreign matter can damage the pump or injectors, and water can cause pump seizure. I would recommend removing the fuel with a suction pump and replacing the fuel filter after refilling your tank.

Radio has no sound

Hello, I've the same problem... however my sound is likely there when I restart the X5 after an hour or so, but it is as likely to disappear during the minutes that follow, often when the car is shaken.

There is then a fair chance to get sound back as soon I drop the phone after a phone call (but it does not always work).

--> My guess is that it is the line of the Phone "mute" signal that brings every sound source down thru a bad contact or so.

BMW wanted to replace the radio for 900 €. Hmm a lot of money for a bad conatct if my guess is right.
