Apex Digital LD4088 LCD TV Logo
Anonymous Posted on Nov 27, 2010

I just purchased an Apex LD4088 HD TV. My problem is the base apparently he holes on the neck of the base are not correctly alligned to attach the pedestal base, it seems to be upside down, it seems a little turn of the base would solve my problems. I called Apex which was a big waste of time, their solution is to take it back to Target. I would have to schlep this 40 something pound TV down 2 flights of stairs, get a ride and drag it into Target(they are sold out!)Is there something else I can do? Can I drill holes in the base where they should be? I don't want to damage the unit, but this is really ridiculous, This is my 2nd LCD and the first one was up and running in a matter of minutes!

Thanks Rabbyt, I found that out on my own, I was going to try a crooked base until I could have someone install it on the wall. I did it, and while setting it in place it seems I was able to straighten it out. You would think Apex customer service would know that? Thanks!! Its up and running but whew!

We had this same problem. We attached the base and it was lined up sideways- but after we attached the screws we were able to turn the TV the right way. I don't know why APEX didn't just suggest that to you. I assume the TV's are made to swivel them from side to side if you want.

I hope that helps!

HOW DO I GET AN ANSWER FROM YOU PEOPLE

by asking the right question. If you ask a vague question you have a good chance of getting a vague answer .
as previously vaguely expained you have to do an auto scan
and let it complete.
This is based on your tv being connected to an antenna and being the model Apex Digital Apex LD4088 40 Class LCD HDTV - 1080p, 1920 x 1080, 16:9, 60Hz, 1800:1

You have to press menu button on your remote control when you see the message you saw on the tv screen.about Auto Scan. Then use the left and right arrows to select tv mode. Press the down arrow to select Air/Cable. Press the left or right arrow to select Air if antenna and Cable if it is a cable service. Once you have selected Air or Cable press the down arrow to select auto scan . If air then press right arrow on the remote (if cable then press enter on the remote)
This is explained on page 18 of the tv user manual

Apex LD4088 no picture

The inverter is the usual suspect with that symptom. It may be hard to find a replacement inverter for an apex model. But you might be able to get one from www.tvrepairworld.com

I cannot program my comcast control for an APEX LCD HDTV LD4088, i have tried all codes lited.

I just spoke with a rep at Apex about the comcast code for the LD4088 TV. I was told to call 1(800)284-8828 M-F for specific customer service for this TV and that if they cannot help us, the TV may be so new that we may have to wait for the next generation Comcast remote in order to control our TV with a comcast remote. Frustrating. Isn't it?
