Intermittent spin cycle on Kenmore 90 Series washer

The spin cycle is intermittent on a 10 year old Kenmore 90 Series Washer with model number 110.26934691. I've already replaced the clutch, the timer and by pass the lid switch. The spin clycle is still intermittent. When the spin cycle does not work: It drains fine with the baket on low spin. Then the basket gets to a higher spin. The basket stops, the timer and motor continue to run through the spray cycle to off, leaving the laundry wet. No spin. Thanks for your help.

It is not the speed selector switch. I just tested the switch by placing the speed dial on delicate (slow/slow) and the timer to spin. The basket spins. While the baket is spinning I turned the speed dial to regular (slow/fast) and the basket spinned at the faster speed. When the speed switch is turned back to delicate the basket slowed down. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

It is definitely an intermittent no spin. Is there another way to test the speed dial? The high speed is working correctly. The problem would occurs after the drain cycle. Basket spins low during the drain cycle and goes to high spin. Then the basket would stop spinning. The motor and timer keeps going, and the spray cycle woul also work.

During normal operation the basket would stop just mometarily and then it would start spinning. Eventually get to the maximum RPM. Then to the end of the cycle.

I definitely hear somthing, either the motor spinning or just humming with no spin.

A load was wahsed today on heavy duty with two rinse selected. There was no spin at end of ultra clean cycle nor at end of the second rinse cycle. During both cycles, when the basket stoped after the drain cycle, I pushed the timer dial in and pull it back up and immediately the spin cycle would work fine. I hope this helps you to help me.

    Thanks

I took the cabinet off yesterday just to observe the motor, the cluth and the inner basket. After the drain cycle the motor continues to spin, the clutch and the inner basket do not spin. Does this help us any?

    Thanks

If you dont mind me asking if the unit sped up and slowed down than the high speed is working. Correct?

Does it shut down everytime when it goes to fast??

I personally am using a Kenmore 80 series at home about 10yrs old too. Its speed selection sw failed and would intermittently energize 2 speeds and make the motor hum and click out on its overload protector. This will also smell like something electrical burning. My washer doesnt start on low and kick in to high and on the breakdown i see on the sears site its pretty much the same. If you say its always done that..than we will move on..its odd...

it sounds like you need amprobe to measure how much power the motor is pulling. While its in the shut down mode does it do anything if you switch the speeds around??

Ohh are you telling me you hear the motor still running??
