SOURCE: Unable to record one tv channel while watching another tv channel

You CAN record one channel and watch another with satellite service, but it would require two separate DBS receivers. The issue is that all satellite broadcasting is encrypted until it hits the receiver, which decodes it and transmits it outward toward your other AV devices. If it weren't for the receiver, connecting the coax cable to your other devices and trying to tune channels with them would yield no signal and possibly much frustration. You would need to split the signal into each receiver and have one connected to the television via one input and the other to the recorder then to the TV via another input.

With cable, you can split the signal without having to have two boxes - this way the QAM tuner in the cable box is still capable of tuning channels while the recorder can tuner basic cable channels for recording separately. You can also have the cable box connected to the recorder via composite so that you can record premium stations on a DVD recorder input mode anytime you like - but you would have to be watching that channel at the same time unless the DVD recorder had a pass-through RF signal (rather than a composite clone) - meaning you could also use coaxial to your television from the recorder and tune channels separately on your television while the recorder is recording one channel.

A lot of what-ifs there, but it is all quite possible.

SOURCE: INPUT GOING CRAZY

It could well be the accumulation of dirt/dust behind the buttons causing them to stick. If you are able to carefully remove the board that the buttons are located on and use a cleaner that will de-grease at the same time. Be sure that everything is dry as can be before re-assembling and then check if the problem persists. If you are not capable of doing this trust a competant technician. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: input channel with no remote

You should be able to select the AV input with an Input or Menu button on the front of the TV.  If there are no arrow keys the Channel and Volume buttons may provide up-down-left-right action.

SOURCE: Input select function... without a remote?

Whew! Found the NE116UD replacement for the EWF2704 Emerson TV (there are other models on the list as well), it can be ordered here for 24.95:

http://www.emerson.newremotecontrol.com/catalog_item.php?catnum=NE116UD

Hope that helps. This problem is certainly very irritating. I have never heard of a remote for 24.95, nice job Emerson -- never again!

Volume goes up and down by itself

Hi wally,

It is sad your having a problem with volume automatically increases

and decreases without any manual input.

These could be caused either by a component on the circuits

( front panel), a faulty regulator or microprocessor.

Components :

can be such as tact switches , diodes

PCB foil tracks, connectors. These means it may needs servicing.

Start with the basics, take out batteries from the remote, and see

if it affects the receiver volume or the one causing the problem.

If the symptoms still persist, One may have to open it up.

and check on it.Have a tech to guide you if you feel you can DIY.

One of the ways to tackle these problem is to take out the

tact switches , or have it disconnected . And use the remote

volume control to adjust the main volume.

If these works for a day or two, find or order replacements

for the said bad components.

There might be other ways but that is what Tech are for.

Let us know what you find , or needs further assistance.

How can I conrol the volume of bose sa 3 amp from the aux input ?

That would depend on the preamp. Name it. A true preamp outputs a variable signal.

It's not clear from the manual what the state of the volume output is without the VCA. Most amps default to full ON and the preamp attentuates the signal with a volume control. Try it with a signal that fades in slowly so you can intervene if it gets too loud. If it's full ON a preamp will control its volume.

The volume goes up by itself - SABA M5115GT

This is due to the signal reception. Some channels are broad casted with strong signal strength. Therefor you will find the audio is louder than other channels. Also, if there is voltage fluctuation/surges/spikes that is also responsible for suddenly increasing the volume. Best is to put a voltage stablizer

Tv channel will not change and volume keeps increasing without to

Most likely you have a defecvtive volume up switch. Unsolder it from the board, and see if problem goes away. Very common problem. Since only one function can work at a time, none of the others will work until you "release" that switch
