SOURCE: I have an AEG Lavamat

possibly the motor brushes. check for continuity across the brushes but remove elec connections first.
brushes are easy to replace but you may find it easier to remove the motor. before replacing brushes, check condition of commutator as well

My 12 year old AEG OKO LAVAMAT is making a grinding sound when it fills. It's fine at all other times. I've tried cleaning out the filter, and running it empty.

This is usually caused by the recycling pump running empty whilst the washing is still soaking up the initial fill water. as the water begins to soak the clothes it then starts to pass through the drum into the pump and the whole thing quietens down. running empty will not work. to test this theory try opening the drawer very slightly and filling it manually with a hose before starting the machine, (ONLY TO THE NORMAL LEVEL) and see if the noise is still as bad.

Retains water (after a delay) in the drum after a wash cycle. Immediately after the wash cycle there is no water in the drum, however after several hours the drum has water in it?

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
This is symptomatic of a malfunctioning water control valve- the hot water one, if the washer is hot and cold fill, and the cold one if it is just cold fill! To find out which it is in the case of hot and cold fill turn the cold tap/faucet off overnight and see if water has come in or not. that will tell you. Also to check that it is just a physical problem and not a control board problem switch the machine off at the supply. If it still does it (from whichever supply) it is that valve which is not closing correctly ;-0
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Have Aeg 72630 stopping problem

When it sticks, is the tub empty of water? If so then you may need to change the cold water solonoid just inside machine where fill vaulves are fitted. good luck hope this works

About mid cycle, a significant amount of water leaks out of the bottom. No error message comes up and the machine continues functioning. Machine is AEG oko lavamat 72640

Could the machine be overfilling due to a faulty pressure switch (controls the amount of water in the drum). Splits in the door seal or broken pipes?

I have 2 problems with my AEG Lavamat 981. 1. The drum won't empty out. We have tried using the emergency drain and even removed the hose connecting the drum and the pump(at the pump end) but the water...

first if you drum is filling again after wash you may have a faulty hot or cold inlet valve turn water taps of after wash has finished if no water in drum the next day just a matter of isolating which valve it is
your second problem sounds like you have a blockage in the hose coming out of your drum to the water pump may be that missing sock you were looking for hope this helps let me know how you went

Too much water entering drum.

I am not sure what the problem is... one passibillity :It can be something blocking the pressostat (pressostat ... is the thing regulating the water... when the water is rising... ear pressure will increase in a small pipe leading up to the pressostat.) What can it be?...

Lime:
if you have lime in your water it can block the intrance to the pressostat after som years. test if this is the problem..

if this is the problem . you chould also clean you machine with acid. Do a wash with asid on 95 degrees (ask for this in a washingmachine shop).. ..

Dirt: take out the small thin pipe(of gum) and clean it.. (the dirt blockin is always nearby drum)
