Miele washers have a small panel on front toward bottom of machine. Flip this panel open with the key provided inside the soap dispenser drawer. There should be a small orange coloured ring which you pull to release the door.
To cancel program press and hold the start button for about 5 or so seconds. this should give you the option of cancelling the program.

Turn dial to finish.
Turn power back on.
Select drain and start.
When drained you can begin again.
