Check the following to address this issue--
1. No power to the dishwasher
Make sure there's power getting to the dishwasher. Check for a
tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Check the wall socket for
power. Sometimes the power cord disconnects at the dishwasher
(inside the junction box, behind the bottom kick panel), if this is
the case, the wiring must be repaired or replaced.
2. Door switch
Replace if defective.
3. Timer
Replace if defective (note: uncommon problem).
4. Selector switch
Replace if defective (note: uncommon problem).
SOURCE: My washing machine stops advancing in the middle
Actually, I don't think it is the drain hose, I think the mechanism that tells the machine the lid is closed is broken. You might be able to run a screw driver under the front lip of the washer, pop open the "rim" and physically press the button together with your fingers, which will start your cycle.
good luck
SOURCE: My dryer won't turn on (start button?) The timer
Hello,
Sound`s like a broken drum belt. When the belt break`s on most kenmore/whirlpool dryer`s it prevent`s the unit from starting via a ``kill switch`` located under or next to the belt tensioner/idler pulley.
Since you`ve indicated the timer appear`s to advance/work, it is not the thermal fuse/cut-out.
The other possible fault is in the start button, but that is not very common.
I`d look at the belt. That`s what I`d check first. Hope that help`s.
Good luck and thank`s for visiting fixya.

This is caused by the Anti-Flood device at the base of the machiene being activated. This device detects water leaks and is a polystireene float / micro switch that puts the machiene in pump out mode only. You need to determine where the leak comes from (pipe or perforated hose pin hole or pipe clamp etc.) If you tilt the washer and some water comes out from the bottom it is a clear indication that there is a small leak.
