if the back light is not coming on then the backlight is eather bad or is not getting power from the circuit board.

Defective CCFL backlight may has the following symptom:
All these symptoms indicate that the LCD backlight lamp (CCFL Lamp) has reached the end of the life and all you need to do is replacing the CCFL lamp
Connect an external monitor to your laptop and power it up, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight.
Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.

you have to go in to the proramming mode of the remote to change this feature. you can access this by holding all 4 buttons on the remote at the same time. (or if you have the P button on the back you can hold it down by itself) you will hear 2 long beeps confirming the programming mode. at this time, you can change the settings by pressing 1 of the 4 buttons., each button will change a different function.
in no order------
1. Beep/vibrate or both
2. page or not to page
3.back light
4. hood, truck, or both
the remote will give 2 long beeps when it exits the programming

Plug the charger into an outlet. Plug the charger into the remote, unplug the charger from the remote. Repeat until "charge" appears on screen of the remote. You may have to repeat the process approximately five times until charge appears. There was an issue with the batteries in the remotes having to be reset. If this does "fix" the issue, your problem may be with the charger itself. You can use any usb charger to charge the remote, i.e. phone car charger, computer, etc.
