I am using Dell Inspiron 1525 and have already attached an external mouse but the cursor still jumps to wherever my mouse is when typing. (it is still jumping as I type this)This is getting very inefficient and frustrating. HELP! :(
This is because you must deactivate your touchpad. you can do this by holding the Fn key and pressing the F* key that shows a picture of a touchpad in the same color as the Fn.
or you can go to control panel and turn it off in the mouse settings. but just attaching a mouse will allow the touchpad to stay active and therefore still be sensitive enough for your hand to "tap" th cursor.;
Good luck and pls rank this response! :D
then this will be your final solution. install the drivers here; http://support.dell.com/support/download...
this will install an icon on your toolbar to adjust the touchpad settings in which case you can disable touchpad click response.

I really want to deactivate my Dell mousepad but it seems there's no such function/option to my laptop. :( The problem still persists.
