I had a similar problem, except I could make the screen and sound come back by banging on the the TV. I opened the TV and poked around on the circuit card and found a loose pin on one of the regulators, labeled C3852. I resoldered the pins and its working fine now.

TV shuts off intermittently, red light next to
Hi,
Unplug the unit for few minutes, say 30 minutes and then turn it ON.If the problem persists, it would almost certain that this is a hardware failure. If you have any electronics repair experience, know how to use multimeter and soldering iron, could read schematics and keep all precautions, i would be more than happy to help you to repair this.
To repair this, i need few more details :-
1. How old the set is?
2. Color of LED?
3. Is there any sequence of blinks or constant or no sequence at all?If there is a sequence, kindly mention the same.
Let me know,so that we could proceed.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
The TV shut off by
sounds like somebody set the timer. normally this only makes the set enter standby mode and pressing the power button or a channel button usually wakes the set normally.
Just a longshot but have you tried pressing 09 while the light is blinking?

Toshiba CZ32V51
two things can be affected, a tuner if you were using out door
the other one is the power supply. the tv sensed a high voltage (surge)
firstly you need to repair a supply, check the following.
i rectifier diodes at the power supply
ii power trasistor, driver trasistors diodes, zener diodes
ii fusable resistor near a power transistor
after the tv will come on ----if they will be light on the tube then test a tuner, by putting in signal.
NO PICTURE
the tv is fault, there is a lekage to ground, cause 5 amps is avery high current. plse take your tv to a w/shop and have the following checked
i rectifier diodes
ii power transistor, driver transistors, diodes, zener diodes
iii fusable resistors near the power transistor
iv making sure that a 90-110volts is getting out of the power supply to a line transistor, near the line trasformer.
the problem will be over
The hand held remote will not work for my toshiba
its batter in a shop were spares can be found. in side a tv there is a photo senser which converts light into electrical signals.
let the photo diode be tested
and also the remote you have on other toshiba sets to confirm, if remotes are a problem or not.
remotes have codes to change to another remote, 060, 019, 014, 052, 059, 075.
Toshiba cz32v51power light flashes, with no picture
That means that an internal error had been detected, and now the TV is on protection mode.
To start unplug the power cord for ten minutes, and see if the TV restart.
If it does not try leaving the set unplugged for longer, let say two hours.
If still no luck call the number listed on the user manual, as the TV has an internal fault, and must be repaired by a technician.
No pic, no sound
Hey Wilt:
We had the same problem, for the same model of Toshiba TV. Had it repaired yesterday. Turns out the problem was the power supply (P.C.B).
The total cost was $192.66 Canadian funds (taxes and labour all in). Our model was 6 years old, buts its playing like a brand new unit now. Hope this helped ...... Good luck
Remote doesn't work
here's a tip to test all remotes
point it at your digital camera/webcam
although the human eye cannot see infared, your camera lense can
watch the monitor to check if its flashing.
also - if you have moved the set, perhaps something inside - such as a wire loom - has fallen in front of the infa red reciever? or it may just need the window cleaning
Toshiba CZ32V51 no vertical scan
that is a truly unhappy video controller. happen recently? looks like you're in for a new board replacement scenario.
vertical deflection amp is not getting the job done.
Toshiba 32HF72 32" tv
Hi,
While on ebay and looking up my set i seen a pcb for a Toshiba 32" but can't remember the exact set number, i think it had HF in it, but not sure...it was from a dealer cleaning out old stock, he said $165 retail and was selling it for $105. Maybe just keep checking there, he may repost the sale again.
