Toro snowthrower coil condensor points

If you have changed sparkplug and coil and cleaned flywheel, you probably have a kill wire problem. Disconnect kill wire from coil and try again.

My tecumseh will start but will not run when the chocke is of and will not get to full throtel

Sounds to me like you need to clean your air filter. Try the fuel filter, too, but I'll bet it's the air filter!

Tecumseh carb 631827. Took it apart, cleaned

Hi I am Kelly, I realize this post is nearly 10 months old. I am answering it now because it appeared after I made another post. Hopefully the repair information can be used by others. Using this link: http://www.partstree.com/parts/dispdiagimg.php?src=r&ilFN=D%3A%5CEMPARTweb_52%5CCatalog+Data%5CEMP_IMG%5CTEC%5Cimages%5Cimages%5CCA01%5C1.TIF&ilSC=10&ilIV=0&ilBR=0&ilIF=G&ilRE=8&ilSH=0&ilEG=0&ilRO=0&ilSC=34Item 31 (spring Clip) is what is used to lift or lower the float needle. If the spring clip was bent or installed so that the spring was on top of the float needle head vs cliped to the recessed area of the float needle you will have the symtom you described. Usually you do NOT have to bend the spring clip to install it correctly. However, if it was bent during installation you will have to shorten the distance of of the spring clip horse shoe fold so that it lowers the float needle when the float is lowered. See the picture on page 40 of this manual for the correct spring clip installation view: http://www.mymowerparts.com/pdf/Tecumseh_Service_and_Repair_Manuals/TECUMSEH_CARBURETOR_TROUBLESHOOTING_AND_IDENTIFICATION_GUIDE.pdfOne other thing to consider is that if the float needle seat is not pressed all the way into thebody you will have the symptom you described.... i.e no fuel flow with float in the lowered position. Good luck, Kelly

I accdently put deiciel in

Remove the fuel line to the carb and drain all diesel out, flush with new gas. You will need to drop the carb float bowl to drain out diesel from it. Consider allowing some fuel to flow out to flush the inlet passageway, put it all back together and start it up.

Hey i have and enduro 5 hp and it is a B**** to

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly,

Download this manual:
http://www.cpdonline.com/692509.pdf

First things first turn off the fuel selector if there is one.

See figure 10 on page 14. I think your going to have to remove the float bowl and the idle screw and use some carb cleaner in the idle screw hole. BEFORE you remove the idle screw turn it "clockwise: gently counting the number of turns until it just stops turning. (write it down as IDLE) DO NOT force it closed. Then remove the idle screw for cleaning. Also remove the main adjustment screw but loosening the nut ONLY that retains the float / fuel bowl. (do NOT turn the main fuel jet until after removal. Again count the number of turns it took for the jet to just stop turning. (Write that down as MAIN) Spray carb cleaner into the idle screw hole and into the threaded area where you removed the bowl nut / main fuel jet. What ever you do if your carb has any Welch plugs in it DO NOT remove them even if the manual tells you to do so.
One thing to check is that your carb mounting bolts are tight and that gaskets are in tact. The symptom your describing can be caused by a bad intake gasket also. It is ok to loosen the carb and slide it away from the head gently and inspect the gasket. DO NOT disconnect any linkages, just inspect the gasket.

After cleaning things up (jets) remove the fuel supply hose form the fuel inlet fitting and leave the float itself in the down position. Spray carb cleaner from the float needle are UP to the fuel inlet manifold. You are attempting to free any debris from the float needle seating area and flush it out through the fuel inlet. Usually you DO NOT have to remove the float and float needle to do this but there are exceptions when there is a large piece of debris in the float needle area. Usually if there is debris here the carb overflows. I do not think you have an overflow problem at this time.
Reconnect the main fuel line. Briefly turn ON the fuel selector and as fuel flows check that as you raise the float to level the fuel shuts off. Turn OFF the fuel selector. If you are not getting good fuel flow here inspect the fuel tank outlet port and fuel filter.
Reinstall the main fuel jet into the bowl nut until it is closed then turn it counter clockwise the number of turns you wrote down for MAIN. Reinstall the float / fuel bowl and main fuel jet but make sure the inner gasket that goes between the bowl and the bowl mounting nut is installed (2 ea usually one inside and one outside the bowl. Install the idle jet screw until it just closes and then turn it counter clockwise the number of turns you wrote down for IDLE.

If you have difficulty with mixture jet adjustments the pre-sets are on page 20 of the manual.
If you find that your going to have to completely tear down the carb and overhaul it the steps are in the same section just past the pre-sets.

Turn ON the fuel selector and attempt a start.

This usually fixes most Tecumseh carbs.

Let me know the outcome please. And if you need parts I can help you locate an on-line source but most lawn more repair shops will have overhaul kits for your engine. I will need your engine number to get you the right parts manual.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Is there a trick to rewinding a new recoil rope on

It's not too bad, but it takes patience. Determine the desired length of the pull cord. You normally do this by placing as much of the old rope together as you can and then measuring it. Obtain the proper diameter line from your dealer, or a big box store. Put a knot in one end of the pull cord, and make sure that the other end isn't fuzzy, as you will be threading that end through the reel and shroud hole. An easy way to prep the line is to light the end with a lighter until it melts, then touch it to something and then pull it away slowly. This will leave you a fused end with a taper on it. Remove the shroud. With the shroud off, wind the reel tight. While holding the reel under tension with one hand, thread the tapered end of the line through the reel and out the hole of the shroud. Pull the line all the way through, and seat the knot. Place a knot about 6" from the end on the tapered end that you passed backwards through the shroud. If your pull cord passes through an eyelet on the handle, away from the shroud, thread the line through this before tying the knot. Slowly, release the pressure that you've been holding on the reel, and allow the reel to feed in the pull cord. The knot will not allow your line to be retracted fully into the shroud. Install the handle, and untie the knot in the line. Reinstall the shroud onto the machine.
Hope that this was helpful. You may rate this solution, if you like.

Spark plug gap for Murray Select Tecumseh Snow king 8/24?

The spark plug gap for a Murray Select Tecumseh Snow King 8/24 can vary depending on the specific model and year of the engine. However, as a general guideline, the spark plug gap for most Tecumseh Snow King engines is between 0.020 and 0.030 inches (0.5-0.8 mm).

To be certain of the correct spark plug gap for your specific model, you should consult the owner's manual or contact the manufacturer. The manual or manufacturer should have the recommended gap size and other relevant information about maintaining your engine.
