the auger and impeller are geared to work together. the auger does turn much slower then the impeller. You may not have a problem at all

Try rebuilding your carburator

Take off the housing over the flywheel using a socket and breaker bar insert a screwdriver to stop the flywheel from turning after taking the nut off use a flat punch on the shaft and strike it with a hammer until a flywheel releases.

Sounds like worn gasket get some stop leak and add it to your oil.

Check for spark on the coil f you have none before replacement make the ground wire s releasing from the brake if they has spark check fuel filter and if ok give the carburator a good cleaning most of the time it will be carburator.
