This is going to come down to your ignition coil/CDL box, ststor, or perhaps you'll be lucky enough that it's only a spark plug wire and you might as well replace the spark plug too since it's so cheap.
Start by doing diagnostic testing and troubleshooting your ignition system, the coil/cdi box for power on both sides(in and out), then the stator if nescessary, but your best tool is a free service manual. Just google "your bike" followed by "service manual pdf" and download a free copy of the factory service manual. I do this for all of the motorized equipment I acquire whether for work or play- you've got to have a manual to know what is what and where it is when it needs to be addressed.
