I have an AA file that I downloaded from
The "AA" file type is not supported in the NWZ MP3 players. However, you are still able to place audiobooks onto your player if you convert the file to one of the supported file audio formats: MP3. WMA, AAC-LC, and PCM. Remember that there are several iterations of MP3, such as variable bit rate and frequency range and the player does not play some of them.
What I do is that I pull the file into Audacity and convert it there. Another option is that if you can burn the audiobook onto a CD, you can then rip to WMP and then sync it to your player. That is how I get my language audiobooks onto my player. The last option, which I have never tried, is to get it into ITunes, then sync it to your player that way. ITunes will automatically convert the file before syncing it onto the player.
Hope that helps.
How to download a song from youtube to cellphone
Step 1: Download a third party program to record internal audio directly, because native recorder can only record audio from outer devices like microphones or headphones.
Step 2: Launch the program then hit "start" button. Play the video at the same time.
Step 3: After video finishes, hit the button again to stop recording.
Step 4: Edit music tags like artist, name, album, cover, etc.
Here are 4 tools for recording YouTube music in detailed steps: https://www.leawo.org/tutorial/recording-music-from-youtube.html?qa=1409
No Videos!!
The Sony NWZ range can only play WMV (windows media video) files. All movies you download through iTunes are .Mov (quicktime) files so these are not compatible. There are some convertors that can translate between .mov and wmv but for movies you have downloaded through iTunes, this will not be possible I'm afraid because of the copy protection they have built in.
To transfer wmv files onto your walkman don't use iTunes but use the Windows Explorer itself. Just drag the files on to the Video folder of your device.
All the best

Cant transfer a playlist to my sony mp3 player
Windows Media Player (WMP) 11 in XP does not create Playlist on my MP3 MTP device. I have a Sony Walkman NWZ-S544 but I think my problem and its solution could also apply to other MP3 players that don't receive Playlists from WMP. And perhaps to Vista and Windows 7?
When I connected my WALKMAN to my PC and used WMP to Sync (transfer) Playlists to it, the songs were correctly Synched but no Playlists were created on my WALKMAN. My problem was that Windows had installed the wrong driver for my WALKMAN. Here is how I diagnosed and fixed the problem.
DIAGNOSIS: When I used WMP to Sync, the picture in WMP's right hand window was a generic MP3 device. It should have looked like my WALKMAN NWZ-S544. When I looked at the device drivers, I couldn't find a driver for my WALKMAN NWZ-S544 under Portable Devices, but instead found a non-MTP Walkman listed as a USB Mass Storage Device. (See Fix explanation for how to look at device drivers.)
Fix: To fix the problem I first uninstalled the incorrect driver and then installed the correct driver. Here's how…
- I disconnected all MP3 players and USB devices (Key/thumb/External Hard drives, etc) from my PC.
- I opened the Device Manager. Right-click My Computer-Click Properties.-Click Hardware Tab-Click Device Manager. No Portable Devices were showing. Click the + to the left of the Universal Serial Bus Controllers heading and there was one USB Mass Storage Device but it was for an irrelevant memory card reader on my PC that I can't disconnect.
- I connected my Walkman. Looking at the Device Manager, I see that one new USB Mass Storage Device is now showing, I right click-Properties and it describes it as a Compatible USB storage device (Walkman). This is my problem. Windows is using an older Walkman driver. My Walkman driver should be for a MTP device.
- I again right click the Walkman USB storage device and click Uninstall. I click OK to Confirm Device Removal. The Device Manage no longer shows my Walkman which has now turned itself off.
- I disconnect my Walkman and then reconnect it. Windows gives me the message that I have installed new hardware. The Found New Hardware Wizard starts. I click "No, not this time" and then Next. I click "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)" and then Next. I click "Don't search. I will chose the driver to install." and then Next. I click "Show compatible hardware" and I select "MTP Device" under Model and then Next. Windows then finds the appropriate driver for my Walkman and I'm done.
VERIFICATION: To verify that it is properly installed, look in the Device Manager under Portable Devices (while your Walkman is connected). Click + and you should see:"Walkman NWZ-S544". Or simply look under Name in My Computer and you should see an entry for Walkman NWZ-S544, and an icon that looks like your Walkman. Everything should now work properly.
How do i get Video on the walkman device
get the arcsoft media converter and use that to convert the video files you want to wma and then after its converted then you can transfer them to your walkman :)
Video playback
This means that you may have used a file format that the device does not support. Try looking on the Sony website on the specs to see what kind of file types it takes. Then try again with the proper formats.
No songs available for playback
Ok what I did was,
1) Reset Player
2) Reformat (you WILL loose all you files) Setting->common settings->format (which is at the bottom of the list)
3) Made sure I had the lastest firmwear by going to Settings->Common Settings->Unit Information. The latest firmwear is version 1.03. If yours is not, google it and download it from Sony website.
4) Download Sonic Stage which is Sonys, transfer software from a trusted location. My versions is 4.3. Once you install you have to restart you computer. When you first start the software it will ask you if you want to Scan your computer first music or added it yourself. I let it scan.
5) Then simply plug in you player and transfer you files by drag and drop or right click drop down menu.
