On a heatilator does the pilot assembly #24094 contain the thermopile? I have the same problem the pilot will not stay lit once I release the pilot light button.

All pilots should have a thermocouple to maintain a flame at pilot its the sensor that sends the signal to valve to say theres a flame here i can stay open firstly try tightening thermocouple connection at valve then replace if didn't change a thing and if still playing up change valve this is my usual procedure for pilots and rarley have to change valves but it could be the valve

I have a Rheem m441506191 50 gallon water heater. It had a Honeywell wv8840c1406 gas control with a thermopile (not a thermocouple). The pilot wouldn't stay lit, it turned out the thermopile was giving 140...

The system I am familiar with uses a vapour pressure type thermocouple and if the pilot remains lit the thermocouple is working as it controls the gas for the pilot and the burner at the same time from the same source - if the gas control is ok and the flow isn't prevented by the thermostat then if the pilot remains alight, there should be a flow of gas and the burner should light - unless the gas jet is blocked or something else, some other type of blockage is preventing the flow of gas to the burner...

I suggest you check the gas jet and the flow of gas to it...

Have a heatilator direct vent GC300ST 15+yrs pilot woont stay lit think I need a thermoplie where can I find ? thk you

You probably need a thermocouple. Any local fire log sales store typically has a thermocouple in stock. If your system has a thermopile as well and is 15+ years old, I'd suggest getting anew pilot assembly and installing it. This way all the parts are new and you won't have to replace another part in 6 months.

Pilot light stays lit but burner on gas logs goes out

You may need a new pilot assembly. Typically one of two issues result from a bad pilot assembly:
1. The pilot won't stay on after lighting it
2. Pilot stays on but logs won't light.

Depending on the unit, you may need a new thermopile or a whole new pilot assembly.

I have got lincat fryer j10 the pilot won't stay

Hi there.
Make sure that the thermopile is receiving enough heat from the pilot and if it does, check if the hi limit is good, check and tighten also all of the wiring connections, before replacing the gas valve.
Regards.

I changed the thermo coupler and the pilot light does stay lit but the burners won't light

If you are referring to a gas fireplace:

  • Make sure the pilot knob is turned from "pilot" to "ON" or it will never run.
  • If the pilot knob is "ON", and the pilot is lit, but the burner won't light, it could be a bad Thermopile. The thermopile is the other safety mechanism in the pilot assembly that controls the burner.

I changed my thermocouple on my fireplace,it still wont stay lit

Thermocouple keeps the pilot lit.
Thermopile keeps the burner lit.
Please specify what won't stay lit...
If it's the burner, you may need to change the thermopile as well.
If the pilot still won't stay lit, you will want to make sure that the pilot flame is large enough to completely engulf the thermocouple and keep it hot. If it's too small, you may need to take some compressed air and blow out the pilot hood to remove any blockage.

Pilot light keeps going out! Will not stay Lit.

Check if the the gas pressure is sufficient (as stated on unit's nameplate). Check if the hi limit device is good. Check also if the thermopile (cylindrical metal with two wires standing behind the pilot hood) is receiving enough heat from the pilot flame. The voltage generated by thermopile should be 500millivolts in order to open pilot and main valve. If there is 500millivolt on gas valve thermopile and the pilot flame does not stay lit, you have to replace the gas valve. If the thermopile is glowing red and the voltage generated does not reach 500 millivots, you have to replace the thermopile.

Pilot will not stay lit after button release

most likely you have a thermopile that has low output. it takes about 100mv to maintain pilot light
