My hl-dt-st dvd+-rw gsa t21n is corrupt!

My windows says my hl-dt-st dvd+-rw gsa t21n is corrupt or missing, how do i get it back?it also says my IDT high defintion audio CODEC cannot start, does anyone know what has happened? i think i might have deleted the drivers by accident, i have a dell latitude d630, anyone know where i can get my drivers back?

I suspect that you are running Vista on your computer. If you have service pack 2 installed, then this is the reason for the missing drivers. When Microsoft issued SP2, they improved it worse. To make things worse, they will not correct the problem, instead, they issued Windows 7. Uninstalling the Windows drivers might help, but did not work for me. At start up, Windows should find the DVD drive as a new device, and ask for permission to look for and install the drivers. Click on no, and Windows will look for alternate drivers, from the firmware.

Download microsoft fixit from http://www.ziddu.com/download/6528022/MicrosoftFixit50027.msi.html and install it in your pc ,once its finished jst restart your pc and see it will work

My cd/dvd is making a clicking noise when i listen to it

The clicking noise is most common problem and almost many of the cd drives. the quickest resolution is to upgrade the firmware of the drive. i see you are using 1525 laptop. To upgrade the firmware click here. If this doesnot resolve the problem there is nothing else you can do. its a mechnical problem. Besides upgrading the firm ware the only solution is to replace the drive. Installation Instructions Windows based firmware flash update for HLDS GSA-T21N 12.7 tray IDE DVD+/-RW:- 1. Download and unzip the GSA-T21N_A1R1.zip into your desktop. 2. In ?GSA-T21N_A1R1? folder, please search for the ?Windows? folder. 3. In ?Windows? folder, please make sure you have the administrator right, and double click on ?GSAT21NA1R1.exe? 4. The firmware of the drive will be updated to a newer version. The target drive should be HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GSA-T21N. 5. Please close other applications before updating and click on the ?UPDATE? button. 6. Now updating in progress. It takes a few minutes. Don?t turn off the PC. 7. Updating was completed successfully. Please reboot the PC and click on the ?REBOOT? button. DOS based firmware flash update for HLDS GSA-T21N 12.7 tray IDE DVD+/-RW:- 1. Unzip the GSA-T21N_A1R1.zip into your bootable USB key. 2. In ?DOS? folder, just type ?DOSA1R1.BAT? and answer ?y? if you want to download the firmware. 3. Now updating in progress. my HL-DT-ST DVD-RW GWA-4082N has a problem i cant up date the drivers in my computer it is missing so if in incert a cd it cant be found my HL-DT-ST DVD-RW GWA-4082N has a yellow exclamation an status Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware.
