1977 chevy with a turbo 350 slipping out of gear

Check the TV (throttle valve) cable, if that's out of adjustment the trany will think you want passing gear. Try disconnecting the cable at the carburator, that should make it shift into high gear at about 25 MPH and stay in high until you slow down. If it fails to stay in high gear then you have major problem. Are there a lot of miles on it? Are you sure you have enough fluid in it? Does the fluid smell burned. It might be just worn out. Good luck!

I replaced the clutch fan in my 2001 rodeo, manual tranny, but the problem is still there, the fan is always on, it sounds like a tractor trailer, the fan will go off after 10 min of driving ,when you get...

usually two types of clutches available, one engages with heat, the other is rpm controlled. The thermal clutch will stay quiet until the engine temp gets too high. Centrifical clutches seem to make more fan noise.

Why does my 1996 mazda 626 have high rpms when driving

Make sure you have the trany in "D" (drive) and not in a lower gear like 1,2 or 3. Some models must be in "econo" (not "power") setting for the trany to shift at a lower rpm. It will also get in overdrive sooner.
