I need to reset my service now light for my vw passat 2007

As with any car nothing is easy especially VW need to learn its systems . Go to library and read up on them or go on line to learn more about what you are working on. Hands on is the best method. This is a mileage interval light that trips every 3,000 to 5,000 miles that indicates an oil change is necessary. You do not need a special tool to change your oil, nor do you need to bring the car in to the dealer.
1. Sit in the driver's seat of the Passat and close all the doors.
2. Position the trip/odometer button to display the odometer mileage reading, then hold it down with the forefinger on your left hand.
3. Turn the ignition key to the "key-on/engine-off" position to turn on all the power options for the Passat without actually starting the engine. At this point, a service indicator light will display (in the form of a wrench).
4. Press the minute adjustment button on the clock (or turn the knob clockwise on European manufactured Passats) and release the trip/odometer button.

you cant remove from the outside unless you cut a hole in the door.

hold down wrench button on right of steering wheel,turn on ignition, then push the min button on the left.then igniton off and it should be reset

the air bag light will only show if the ignition was turned on while it was disconnected.

it will defo need to be pluged into the computer to be put out but some smaller garages will have the software to do this and will be a little cheaper.here in ireland VW wanted 50euro to do mine but a small garage done it for 30euro.

you can buy code finders/reset gadgets on ebay but might not be worth it for one job compared to $130.

my suggestion would be to get the main dealer to do it if a normal automotive shop cannot access it.

Here's how to do it

a very common fault is the switch,the calipers are not much better,they will be able to sort it for you but they are bad news for a modern car !!

manually use the vw sign or logo on the trunk and press it down and shut the trunk .the emergency latch is reset.
