SOURCE: 2000 chevy truck 5.3 liter. air conditioner works

After the clutch disengages ( when it's not suppose to )check the voltage on the + output terminal on the clutch relay, (inside the fuse box under the hood) if you have voltage there, check the voltage at the clutch, if you have voltage there too, its the clutch. The clutch gets worn and will engage when cool, but fails after heat builds up. Check this by tapping the face of the clutch with the ac on, if it's simply a worn clutch it will likely engage for a while.

SOURCE: How can I bypass the

just take the connector off and use a big paper clip to connect the 2 terminals inside the connector. Use electrical tape to cover the paper clip and then strap the connector to something so it doesn't flop around. Make sure you remember to push the clutch in before turning the starter or you can damage the starter. Let me know if you have more questions.

SOURCE: how do I bypass clutch

To by pass the switch just disconnect the switch and connect the 2 wires from the switch wiring harness together. If it is only one wire then you connect it to a ground source.

This bypass solution is not recommended in any case. The switch should be replaced for safety measures. It is very inexspensive to buy this switch and is well worth the $30.00. My opinion

01 Sierra, 1500. I bypassed the clutch position switch and it started, Lt Green wire to the Purple with white. Am I to plug in the wire harness back into the switch

If you bypassed the neutral safety switch, then you disabled a safety feature. Replace the switch and undo the bypass to be safe. Someone ran their truck into my house because he had bypassed the switch and forgot the truck was in gear and started it. Just luck that no one was hurt but damage to the house.

What are the wire colors of the neutral safety switch on a 2000 Caravan 3.0 liter with a 4-speed automatic transmission.

Brown wire with yellow tracer shows to be wire color. You can always jump the starter to get it to crank, but, that doesn't mean it will start. In the past I have been lucky, different vehicle, I put the key in on position, jumped the starter relay, the vehicle started, I managed to get it home.
When testing, make sure tranny is in park or neutral and functional parking brake is set. There are safety issues, safety is your responsibility. You don't want the vehicle to move when your working on it.
You realize if you bypass anything, it may start in any gear, if it does it will run over you or one of the kids, anything that gets in the way. Again, safety for everybody is your responsibility.

How to locate and bypass the clutch safetey

The clutch safety switch is located directly on the clutch pedal. Look under the dash and you will see a switch with a wire plug attached to it. Disconnect the plug ( it will be a 2 wire plug ) and use a jumper to cross over the 2 terminals on the plug end. This will eliminate the clutch safety switch

The clutch safety switch behind peddle seems to need replacement.

of course!...however you do not want to bypass this safety switch! bypassing it will allow a car in gear to start...possibly running over and/or killing someone! get a cheap switch at a salvage yard!

I have a 5 speed transmission and my clutch neutral safety switch is going out. can I bypass this switch

well to clear things up, its not a "neutral safety switch", manual vehicles have a clutch safety switch!
And yes you can bypass it, follow the clutch pedal up behind the dash, you'll find the switch. pull the plug and "short" the two connections(of the plug) with a piece of wire.

What makes you say it is "going" bad? Just curious, normally it'll just stop working!

Trying to replace a clutch safety start switch on a 2002 chevy s-10 5 speed trans.hubby was gonna try and bypass it but cant so need to know the wiring, its got 2 solid purple wires and 1 brown and white...

do not bypass it. the only wires on it that are of concern are the 2 purple wires. If you wire them together it will start without the clutch pedal depressed but that can be very dangerous.
