Heater did not turn on after battery change - 2005 Chevrolet Blazer

  • Michelle Shone Dec 09, 2012

I had to change the battery and after installing the new battery, the heater/ac will not turn on. All other components (lights, radio, gauges, etc) are working fine. Any ideas greatly appreciated. Thanks.

2007 v6 ford escape, got code p0141 changed the bank 1 sensor 2 02 sensor but engine light stays on even after reset, checked wires for cuts or burns didn't see nothing any help is appreciated.

You'll need to test the voltage at the O2 heater leads. It should be 12V (battery voltage) while engine running or for a short period when key is turned to on position.

The sensor 2 heater is provided battery power from the PCM and the ground lead eventually goes to a common ground point for all the 02 heaters.

No voltage across the heater leads will mean an open at either or both leads or the PCM is not providing power to the sensor heater circuit in question.

99 Navigator-Radio and heater continue to run with ignition in OFF position. Ignition switch has been changed.

Stuck ignition relay possible. With hot battery, turn key off and then feel each relay. If you find a hot one, change it.

Replaced the battery on a GMC Sierra 2005. Turned AC on, it cooled for about a minute and started blowing hot air on the driver side, the passenger side blows cold. What does replacing the battery have to...

you have taken the calibration out of sink. you will now have to remove battery power again for about 5 minutes. after this time reconnect the battery. then turn key to on position for 3 minutes but do not touch the heater control or temperature controls. This should allow the heater and ac system to recalibrate. once the 3 minutes is up turn key off and then back on and start truck.. Try your controls again and see what happens. if no change then dealer will have to reprogram the heater control calibration for you.

'99 Ford Windstar heater investigation turned into dead car

You seemed to have one problem then you developed another one. Here is my suggestion that loud screeching sound mean that you have a bad flywheel or at-least in one spot. If you manually turn fly wheel all the way around you should see chip in the teeth/gears of the flywheel. The other problem is during all the connections back and forth with the battery you may have blown the battery/main fuse,or may have burnt a fusible link, replace and you should re-gain power to start. If flywheel is damaged turn the damage part away from the starter and the vehicle should start with out screeching. Godd Luck contact if you need more help
