Water from bathtub faucet is orange when first turns on. The plumber says it is not rust. The pipes are all copper. It becomes clear after about 30 seconds but by the next morning the water is cloudy
identify the source from hot or from cold or from both. cold only suggests you may have a rusty water service supply pipe. this pipe is outside underground. hot would indicate corrosion at your water tou may have a copper system but it;sheater. both hot and cold would possibly indicate galvanized nipples were used to stub out of the wall under your sink, and are experiencing ionic transfer...or electrolysis...if its your bathtub you are talking about and not your sink faucet,,,,the color is very common and is occurring because your tub spout and showerhead were piped with galvanized pipe. a lot of plumbing shops pre-fab their tub valves with galvanized pipe and supply the valve water with copper tubing....just grin and bear it if so. one more idea if it is your faucet and it occurs on both hot and cold use...check the screen in your faucet aerator...the little chrome (or brass) tip that screws on and off the end of the spout on the faucet. good luck and if you see corrosion on any supply connections...handle with care...the pipe or fitting could be very brittle or soft...and break apart...causing a flood....make sure to know where and how to turn your house water supply off before going beyond a visual inspection of your plumbing..orange water indicates corrosion of steel pipe 99% of the time and bkue water indicates corrosion of copper pipe 99% of the time.

NPT and NPS are the same. Screw away! If your female thread is plastic and your male thread is metal, you must be careful not to overtighten as overtightening can crack the plastic on the female thread. Good luck, and don't forget your teflon tape. 4 to 5 wraps is good unless you have heavy duty gas piping teflon, then use less.

Faucet whistles
According to FixYa.com: "
This is most likely debris in the aerator, filter screen or check valve in the hand sprayer of the faucet. Try removing the hand sprayer and checking the filter screen at the end of the hose. The try removing the check valve to ensure it is clear of debris. It is the yellow ring with the white plastic flap in the middle. You can simply push in on the white flap and hook the yellow ring with a cork screw. Then pull it straight out. You may want to cover the drain with a dish cloth while doing this to keep small parts from being lost. I'm Harvey the Master Plumber. You want to know if you can fix a sudden low volume /pressure delivery problem on an American Standard model AS4205100 H7, one hole / single lever with pullout spray And is it fixable by owner?Yes and maybe! All plumbing systems are plauged with debrie buildup. Every time you turn on a faucet the water starts moving and will bring bits of debrie up from the water main or well. Most are small and will pass through to be caught by the screen in the aireator. Sometimes a relatively large piece comes along and dosen't make it through to the screen. It is stuck in the body of the valve. Fixing takes a little mechanical ability. First, turn off the water to the faucet in question. Then carefully disasemble paying close attention to the order of disasembly so you can reverse the order when putting back together. As each part is removed inspect it for that troublesome bit. I find that a little bit of wire or a paper clip is helpfull. Carefully reasemble. If the volume is still low then you missed finding that bit. Try again or call in a local pro. It could be one of two problems, one simple, one serious. - Turn off hot water angle stop under sink to faucet.
- Remove supply line from hot angle stop.
- Place end of supply line in a small bucket to catch some water.
- Turn on cold water for a couple of seconds and backflush debris from faucet.
- Reconnect supply line.
- Turn on angle stop and test
If you have steel pipes you may be experiencing reduced flow due to corrosion in your pipes. Reduced hot water pressure in the kitchen faucet is usually the first sign since this is the faucet that is most used in the home. Repiping is a job for a professional. Another symptom you may need a repipe is orange colored or rusty water.
How to increase water pressure
remove the screen and clean it or leave it out,if that don't work youll need to add an inline pressure increase pump,

Leaking tap
This is most likely a cartridge that has worn out and needs to be replaced. Most of the kitchen faucets use cartridge number 92730000. This is available through your local dealer or online dealer.
