SOURCE: grohe trim pressure balance valve

i looked at it and there might be a press in cap with a screw underneath where the grohe label is. there also may be a set screw around the shoulder of the handle where an allen hex wrench fits to losen its clamp on the stem. also.......some handles just snap on and just pull off with some tugging and wiggling them just right.

Be concerned and follow manufactures recommendations. Often you make sure any plastic seats are not closed if soldering the valves.

The only connection for copper pipe I know of that aren't soldered are either the flared fittings OR the compression ones using the littl "ball" type collars.

SOURCE: leak where Grohe shower head attached to the threaded pipe

using a pair of vice grips wrapped in a soft towel( to prevent scractching) turn the shower head in a counter clockwise direction to remove it then apply liquid teflon (real-tuf) to the threads on the shower arm and tighten the shower head but dont over tighten it liquid teflon is more effective at sealing leaks than teflon tape and it can be wiped clean

SOURCE: Install trim and adjust the thermostat on a Grohe shower faucet

Before you install the temperature control knob, adjust the valve body (47111) with a wrench to set the temperature to "100 degree or close to it". Now, place the limit ring to tdc (top dead center) and control knob with the red 100-degree align to it. Your problem may have been the valve's temperature setting is out range when you installing the temperature control knob.

The handle to switch between the overhead showerhead and the handheld wand won't turn.

Look to a small hole on the adjustment handle there should be a small Allen screw. Loosen the Allen screw set the handle to the desired position then tighten the Allen screw.

Grohe shower bracket loose

Had the same issue, my suggestion is: 1) find out what model it is 2) go to the Grohe site and go to the tech specs of the glider element 3) for my unit you need to insert a 3" Allen key into the hole in the center of the holder unit and tighten.. worked for me http://cdn08.grohe.com/lib/1/tpi/766909.pdf

I can not take the handle off of my shower valve to get to the cartridge. i have a seabury grohe shower valve.

There is usually a set screw near the base of the handle that holds the handle on the valve stem if the handle is metal. if it is acrylic then there is a plastic cover that hides a screw which fastens it to the valve stem.

I've removed the screw but can't get the handle off my Grohe Ladylux single handle faucet.

Hi,
many times the handles will corrode on tightly....
A sharp rap from a rubber mallet will sometimes work, but most of the time you will ruin the faucet when getting the handle off...

Leak where Grohe shower head attached to the threaded pipe

Hello, Many shower heads have similar problems. (Very frustrating as you now know) The problem is the threads at the end of the (cheap plastic) shower neck are not flat. They are tapered (has an edge) - so it does not seat flush with the base of the shower head. Actually cuts around the rubber washer causing a leak.

What to do about it?

File the end of the neck some to create a flat surface. However, go slow. Be sure you can still screw on the shower head. Add a flat rubber washer in the shower head and plumbers tape on neck threads too.

Or Purchase a new shower neck that has a better design. The neck should unscrew from the front. Check and make sure you have an access behind the shower just in case you need to access the plumbing.

I replace the shower neck myself if there is an access.
