This is related to the motor, and may be that the motor needs new brushes, wiring or the motor control board. Most likely for a 8 year old washing machine is the brushes.

SOURCE: We are getting error code E3. What does this mean

Looks like you have either a stuck drum (does not spin) or an electrical fault that make the washer think the drum is not moving.

From a 2006 Technical Bulletin:

E3: Machine control is attempting to drive the motor but is not seeing any tach response. Visual Check shows motor is not moving. (Locked or Hall Sensor fault.)

Specifically, it could be:

1. Spin drum stuck – Verify that the spinner moves freely to eliminate this cause.
2. Hall Sensor (integral part of motor) fails or is loose – When the Hall Sensor fails or becomes dislodged, the control doesn't recognize that the motor is spinning and shuts down. The result will likely be an “E3” code in the worst case, or “SUdS” if it is only getting a partial rpm reading. Check wire harness connector(s) to motor.

Unless you are really overloading your machine you likely have an electrical fault, or a failure in the drive train--especially if the problem is intermittent. Probably time to call in a technician.

SOURCE: code f23 for whirlpool washing machine

Hi,
It means that there is a fault in the heating circuit and the heater is not working

The listed site deals with this problem so take a look and if you are fully capable of testing, follow the troubleshooting instructions but always double check that the unit is unplugged or disconnected from the electrical supply.

http://www.assuredparts.com/WhirlpoolDuetWasherFaultCodes.html

And remember kindergarten rule #1 "If in doubt, don't" with everything that is potentially dangerous. Electricity kills so a service repair bill may be a better solution.

Hope this helps.

SIEMENS WM12S740EE/11 Washing Machine. HOW DO I RESET SIEMENS WASHING MACHINE?

This error can't be reset, it is a repair job. The code mostly means that the carbon brushes are end of life. You can replace them yourselves with new spare parts.

Please don't type all in capitals. It is hard to read and considered 'SHOUTING'.

F43

Hi.

If you have Bosch, Baumatic, or any other machine built by Bosch, then F43 is a motor issue:

Error F43 : Motor fault: do an emergency drain through the drain access in the front bottom side (see manual). Open door and check ig the drum rotates free when spin by hand. Disconnect power before performing maintenance.

My new bosch logixx front loader washing machine (3 weeks old) is showing a flashing error code F:43....what does this mean ? Thanks

I just realised that I don't appear to have a comprehensive list of Bosch error codes, but some quick research tells me that F43 is a motor error, usually associated with the motor brushes requiring replacement (Though they may also be sticking and just require removing, cleaning and re-fitting).
