My BI95 ice maker freezes and has water flow, the mould maker fills, the water continues to run into the bucket and it freezes solid. I changed the mould maker and water valve. The problem remains

Ice maker is about 6 years old, now a new Moldova maker last year and this year a new water valve. Probably what sends the signal to the water valve but I don't know where that is.

If water keeps running after the fill cycle is usually indicates a bad fridge inlet valve. This valve controls the amount of water going into your icemaker. It is found where the water line goes into the fridge, usually in the back of the fridge at the bottom. You would need to cut the power to the fridge, turn off the water supply going into the fridge and remove a panel to get to it. You can check out online what a fridge water inlet valve looks like so you can identify it. It usually has 1-2 water lines going into it and 1-2 wire harnesses attached. You can buy new ones at a appliance parts store or online.

What causes ice in ice container to freeze into a solid block?

The water control valve has trash in it or is otherwise malfunctioning and isn't shutting off water completely when filling the ice maker. Water then leaks over into ice bucket and freezes solid.

there s a adjustment but it only controls /like 1 to 2 oz of water . its prbably the ice mker unit or the water valve . .. ice mker tell water how long to let water in and if valve is bak it might not shop off causing water fill . change water valve first . then ice maker if needed .. icemker might have a bad tray and some cubes do not drop / if so next fill will over fill causing problem . mm

Ice make won't drop the ice

The ice mould has a very low wattage element built into it to help release the ice cubes. This heater may be faulty. Most ice-makers have no serviceable parts in them. You may have to replace the complete ice maker.

Ice maker water wont shut off continues to run even when tray is full

The ice maker water fill solenoid may be leaking by and needs to be replaced. If you disconnect the water line from the solenoid and you see it continues to flow water then that valve is not seating properly. Another slight possiblility is the ice maker motor module gear is stuck in the fill position. See the attached link for a diagram. If the geared wheel just happens to get stopped in the "fill" position it will fill with full force water. If there is only a trickle of water then the soleinoid valve is the more likely source of the problem. http://www.partselect.com/Schematics/Maytag/AA56-20.gif http://www.partselect.com/Schematics/Maytag/AA56-16.gif
