My freezer has had ice built up on the bottom shelve for about a year now. It leaks once in awhile. We had a power outage 2 nights ago, and since then the temperature has been rising in the freezer and the alarm has sounded twice in 24 hours. Could the 2 problems be associated with each other? I have read how to eliminate the ice build up issue, but not sure about the temperature issue. Thanks
The power cut may have damaged the compressor. If it overheated trying to restart it may just click on and off for a while. Check if the compressor is hot and running.
Testimonial: "My husband replaced the pcb inverter. we let the fridge run for about 7 hours, but it didn't get cold. the compressor seems to be fine. We cleaned the tube that appeared to be causing the ice build up finding debris and a piece of a plastic tie. We don't believe that was associated with the alarm issue. He just removed the inverter & reinstalled it to try again. Ideas?"

Make sure the door is closing properly, that nothing is trapped in the door seal, and that the seal isn't torn or distorted. The seals are there to stop moist external air getting in then dropping its load of moisture as it cools. A.

drain is blocked in freezer. take back panel off inside the freezer and you will probably find that the bottom is covered with ice. melt off with a hairdryer and hot water till water flows freely down the drain. needs a bit of patience

Hi,
This is most likely a blocked drain pipe - blocked with ice that is.
Remove all the drawers in the freezer - and stack them up.
With the unit switched off and unplugged, undo the fixings on the rear pannel in the freezer (behind the drawers)
Remove it to see the evaporator coils etc.
At the base there should be a channel - and a hole leading to the drain pipe. This needs unblocking wih a thin flexible cable. -net curtain support wire is ideal, and cheap. or use a short length of insulated cable.
Check it comes out at the rear of the unit onto the evaporator container - situated on top ofthe compressor.
Replace everything and switch on.

Hi
I have the same refrigerator and found the manual;
"The refrigerator compartment was programmed to defrost automatically meaning you do not have to constantly clean and dry it. Copy from the manual"
Also have a look in the back for the drain outlet - very small. If that is clogged up it also cause water on the inside.
