Look on the TV menu for (system) in south africa we use PAL, if you cant change it on the TV, with the decoder remote press menu then 7 then 4, it will ask for a pin code press 9-9-4-9 it will read "RF modulator" press OK, it will then read 1 MODULATION press ok again and it will highlight PAL I now press the right key and press OK, if this persists then the decoder it probably faulty... good luck

RCA video cables handle analog signals. HDMI cables carry digital video signals. You need a converter. If you are using a component video converter, check if you swapped two of the three RCA video cables. (There are some A/V projectors that can do the translation of RCA and HDMI internally. Most TVs do not.)
