If you get a paper jam, the Paper Jam indicator light promptsyou to clear the paper path. If the paper has just started to feed from thepaper feeder when the jam occurs, pull the paper straight up out of the paper feeder. Open and close the printer cover toresume printing. If the paper jam occurs inside the printer, remove the paper from the output bin. Turn the printeroff, then on. First check to see if there any any bits of paper stuck by checking the front and the rear feeder.
Also consult your manual to see if it accepts that thickness of paper.

The printer will stop printing is there is an error, check for any paper jam before printing. Take note of the error message and locate the exact jam.

Keep looking there is a small piece some where in there that you are over looking.

set the paper tray size to the size of the paper...if this is ok...clean the pick upo roller with damp cloth and soap water...if this doesnt help ...change the pick up roller..

the left side of the printer pulls the paper causing the printer to jam when trying to print

I had the same problem, and found that the sheet feeder mechanism was intermittent. The problem seems to be that the lubricating grease inside the mechanism.(white nylon round thing with gears on it) becomes too slippery with age, and stops picking up the activating arm which allows the cam unit to move to kick the top sheet of paper into the rubber feed wheel.
The repair was extremely difficult because it involved taking most of the printer apart to get to the ink pump/sheet feeder mechanism.(white nylon round thing with gears on it). And then I tried quite a few lubricants (including no lubricant at all) but none of these worked reliably. Finally I tried a dab of automotive wheel bearing grease (it feels like glue), and this worked perfectly. I have had no more paper jam errors and no miss-feeds in about 7months of everyday use.

Hi! I have the same issue. The only solution I still use: select print from document with no paper in the hp's feeder. Let the printer go on "paper out" message, now put the paper into the feeder and press the print button on the printer. Success!

Sounds like there is something jammed in the paper feeder, or maby its the paper feeder itself. Check to see if the path the paper follows through the feeder is completely clear. Sometimes paper is left in the feeder from previous paper jams.
