Re: How to use USB device in USB port of Sony DVD Player
Hi!
When using the pen drive with the dvd player add the images/videos/songs directly into the pen drive without creating any folders in the pen drive and then try to connect.

you can use an RCA connector .just hooked up the rca cable in the video and audio port ( output ) of the dvd player and then the other end of the rca cable to the component input of the tv unit. then set the tv unit to the right input like AV1, AV2 or AV3. depending on the input that you have been plugged in the tv component input port.
Hello,
I own this same MP3 player. Had this happen to me and I have a great laptop too. Just out of the blue it would not work in any of my USB ports. When your MP3 is plugged into your USB port you should be able to click on "devices" and go to your MP3 player and there should be a option to fix the driver. It will update the driver for the MP3 player. What's happening is your driver is not recognizing the MP3 player. No biggie, you just have to make it recognize it again.
Regards,
Tony
Hi, Sony NWZB133F MP3 Player not recognized by the computer
This may be caused by one of the following: 1. Minimum system requirements were not met. 2. Corrupted drivers. 3. Computer restrictions. 4. Power issue.
To resolve this issue, try the following solutions:
SOLUTION 1 - For brand new player or first time connecting to this computer.
For Windows XP users: verify the following operating system requirements are met. - Windows XP SP2 or higher - Windows Media Player 10 or higher
Download and install the latest Windows Media Player if it's not installed.
For Windows Vista users: If the player is seen in My Computer when using MTP mode, but not showing in Windows Media Player. - Download the hotfix from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/939211. - Run the hotfix.
For MAC users, see Sony NWZB133F MP3 Player not recognized by a MAC OS
NOTE: If you are trying to connect to a Computer at work that is part of a network, there may be user right restrictions that are set to disable access to new hardware or stop any program installations. You may need to check with your IT administrator to see if this is causing the problem.
SOLUTION 2 - Refresh the driver
STEP 1 - Connect the Sony NWZB133F MP3 Player to the PC The screen on your player should turn on, show 'Connected' and indicate the battery charging or full. - If the player does not turn on try other USB ports or on another computer if one is readily available. Ensure you are connecting directly to the computer USB port and not to a USB hub. - If there is nothing showing on the screen and the player does show up in as a storage device in an explorer window, then the screen is just not working.
If you receive the error "USB Device Not Recognized" on the computer, the player is most likely failed. Additional troubleshooting is unlikely to correct the problem.
STEP 2 - Check under Device Manager 1. Right-click My Computer, and select Manage. Image 2. Click Device Manager on the left pane. Image
NOTE: Sony NWZB133F MP3 Player can connect to your computer in MSC or MTP mode. Exceptions are Sony NWZB133F MP3 Player Connect and Sony NWZB133F MP3 Player Express which only use MTP mode. MTP mode is the recommended and default method for Sony NWZB133F MP3 Player when used with Windows OS.
The Sony NWZB133F MP3 Player will show up on Device Manager's right pane as: 1. USB Mass Storage device (if the player is set to MSC) 2. Portable Device (if the player is set to MTP mode)
If there is a yellow exclamation point (!) or question mark (?) beside the device, try to refresh the drivers.
STEP 3 - Refresh the drivers 1. Right-click the entry with the error mark, select Uninstall. 2. On the top menu, click Action then select Scan for hardware changes.
NOTE: If a device with yellow exclamation point (!) continually appears and disappears, then the player is most likely failed. Additional troubleshooting is unlikely to correct the problem.
I suggest that you uninstall and reinstall the USB Driver to resolve the issue.
Follow these steps to uninstall the driver and confirm the player is recognized
properly.
IMPORTANT:
This procedure must be performed while logged in as Administrator or to an
account with Administrator rights.
If you are using the Windows® XP operating system, you must have Service
Pack 2 or later installed.
Click Start and then click Control Panel .
In the Control Panel window, click Performance and Maintenance .
In the Performance and Maintenance window, click
System .
In the System Properties window, click the Hardware tab.
On the Hardware tab, under Device Manager , click the Device
Manager button.
In the Device Manager window, click the plus (+) sign in front of Disk drives
.
Click to select the Sony USB device .
From the menu, click Action and then click Uninstall .
In the Confirm Device Removal box, click OK .
Disconnect the portable player from the computer.
In the System Settings Change box, click Yes.
After that, restart the computer and reconnect the Player to resolve the issue. USB Drivers are generic to the Operating System and will reinstall automatically after restarting the computer. I hope it works.

step1 : connect your mp4 to the computer using the usb cable that was provided.
step2 : when the install wizard pops up, click the one with advanced.
step 3: click the one that says you will choose where to install it from
step4: check USB mass storage device.

i hope this helps many people, since i searched everywhere for a solution
Uninstall problem MTP device in device manager. Reinstall it as a USB mass storage device. It should connect to the USB port. Unintall that USB mass storage device. Scan for hardware changes. It will find your mp3 player and install it. In the window to choose what action to take, choose sync music. Media player will open and connect. So then, will your other apps.
1. goto desktop, right click on my computer and press manage.
2. goto the device manager, find the usb devices / ports.
3. Make sure you are useing a ps2 mouse / keyboard since if your mouse/keyboard is connected to usb they will stop working untill your pc is restarted and the devices are reinstalled.
4. Uninstall all usb devices.
5. after all usb devices are uninstalled reboot the pc.
If the problem is with your drivers ( your pc detects the mp3 player but no drivers found) Download the newest drivers for your product and operateing system from the vendors website.
1. install the drivers from cd which came along with the player 2. check the USB adapter cable 3. Check the message dialong whenever you connect your USB cable to ur computer on the taskbar. 4.if you get message " one of the usb device connected cannot be recongised" then the problem with the Player adapter controller 5.your computer USB may be malfuntioning 6. check for the drivers installed. if not install drivers from the installation diskette thank you
I tried above solution but still same is the message. Do I need to use specific Sony Pen Drive or USB HDD to play images/videos in Sony DVD Player.
