Escort Qi45 not picking up laser signals

I have an Escort Qi45 installed with Laser shifters and while it will often pick up laser signals, it will never pick up the signal from the local jurisdiction that I drive through everyday to work. I can't find anything on Escort website that tell if there's an update available or what signals are not detected by their product. Any thoughts or similar experiences out there.

SOURCE: I was travelling at a high speed and a cop was

It's called "Instant on" doppler radar. It's purpose is to defeat radar detectors and as you saw, it can. The system is powered down while the cop is sitting there watching traffic. When he sees someone he thinks is speeding he just taps a button and the unit emits a brief burst of radar and shuts off again. And just that quick he's got your speed. There are some radar detectors that say they can detect these too, but I wouldn't know how truthful that is.

If you are in an area where the police are not equiped with laser radar guns, most areas are to cheap to implement them, you can simply cover the laser sensor with black electrical tape and this will prevent it from going off every time you go anywhere near store with door opener sensors and a million other none cop sources of reflected laser light. Also if a cop hits you with a laser it is traveling at 186,000 miles a second and I don't think you will be able to hit the breaks before he gets the reading. the laser only goes off where he tags someone. Basically laser radar detectors are useless. This solution works 100%

SOURCE: False Laser Detected/Other

IF this happens when you first get into the hot car, the problem is likely to be that the electronics in the unit are too hot. If the problem goes away after the car cools off inside (assuming you have AC), then your unit has just become overheated.

My valentine one will not pick up speed camera vans now it was working on KA band then went to K band now will not pick up?

They are using instant-on radar that has a weak K-band signal that is used to turn on the radar when you are in range. The signal is so weak that you cant detect it until you are in range of the main radar set. This is also known as radar detector countermeasures. Laser is worse. I have beaten laser twice with my Valentine 1 in California where it requires 2 reads to nail you. Slam on the brakes when your detector alerts..

Police pointed laser at me on freeway and 7100 did not detect

the laser receiver on these are really horrible it usually only picks up the laser if its fired directly near the unit but most cops fire the laser at the front grill or rear of the back of the car and the model you are using is a low end model so the field of view for picking up the laser is really small. most rader/laser detectors that are dash mounted dont usually pick up the laser signal. and when they do its usually as soon as you pass the source of the laser

It stopped playin cds and dvds

You can try a laser lens pick up cleaner kit - it might be dirty and not picking up.. If that does not work it is most likely the laser pick went bad.. It happens often..

Good luck ;)

Samsung CLP-300 picking up too many pages

Hi
Thanks for using FixYa. Paper jam is a very common problem with the printers.

First of all clean off the rubber piece that pulls the paper into the printer from the tray with rubbing alcohol, and also take a knife to the rubber piece to rough it up to create more traction.

To clear the paper jam problem you need to remove the back roller mechanism to get at paper. If still the problem persists, then check the following to resolve the issue--

1. Please check all interlocks, electrical and signal connections are seated properly.
2. Front cover, back cover and lid are closed properly.
3. Power plug and USB cable are connected.
4. Printer is turned on with switch on the back.
5. Toner signal lights sequenced, with yellow overall led on.
6. There is some noise of paper roller movement.
7. Toner signal lights all out, overall status light turned to red
8. No visible paper in paper tray or anywhere else.
9. No paper in tray---added paper
10. Waste toner container is full or not installed ---empty, installed properly.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Motorcycle Laser Detector False signal

This is a power noise issue caused by alternator whine. There are two solutions. First, you could try wiring the RD's power directly to the bike's battery terminal. Or you can get a snap-on RF filter which is available at your local radio shack. Loop the RD's 12V power wire around the snap-on RF filter two or three times and then snap the filter closed. The RF filter is simply a ferrite choke. It should block the alternator whine sufficiently to stop the laser falses. If the RF filter doesn't do the trick, then you will need to get a noise filter from a car stereo shop. The cheapest one will do, as long as it says that it will attenuate noise by 30dB or more. Come to think of it, a car stereo shop could have a RF filter installed on your bike in less than 20 minutes. So perhaps that might be the way to go.

LD Repeats itself every 15 seconds in play, DVD's play fine.

This solution should help or at least decrease the occurances.
It has worked for me.
The problem seems to be that the original manufacturer lubrication on the glide rails and on the glide track has lost it's viscosity causing the Laser Pick-up Head gliding process to bind causing video to repeat at any random binding point.
Open the top cover and play a Laser Disc.
Manually change from Side "A" to Side "B".
Observe how the Laser Pick-up Head glides on the track and on the glide rail.
Stop play mode and remove the Laser Disc.
With the tray open, unplug the power at the power electrical cord. Now with the power removed and the tray left open, take a "Q-Tip"™ and spray some ""WD-40"™ on the "Q-Tip"™.
Now gently tap the saturated "Q-Tip"™ along the full length of both the upper and bottom glide rails as well as the glide tracks.
Repeat this process.
Be careful not to touch or lube the Laser Pick-up Head with the "Q-Tip"™.
If you do touch the Laser Pick-up Head, just gently clean it with another "Q-Tip"™ saturated with alcohol.
When finished, reconnect the power and play a Laser Disc.
Manually change From "SIDE "A" to SIDE "B" about three times to spread the "WD-40"™ evenly and ease the gliding process.
This solution should help.

Change optical pick up, but still can not read the disk

you may not have adjusted the laser correctly. if you actually did place the laser in without damaging it, then what you need to do is adjust it so that it picks up the Game.
